We came back to Roxas for our wedding and needed a place to stay, all other hotels were booked. Ocean Manor has been a great property. Its so close to everything we need, food, shopping, market, barber shop and it's less than 100 meters from the ocean. The location is very quiet at night since most guests are tired from exploring Palawan. We have really enjoyed our stay here in Roxas at Ocean Manor. I will book this again in the future.
Featuring a garden, a terrace and a bar, Backpacker's Hill Resort is located in San Vicente and is a 13-minute walk from Port Barton Beach. Guests can enjoy garden views.

I really do not understand why people complain about the location, İ mean - don't you guys check it before booking? A 15-min walk to the center being a problem, wow... And there's literally the word "Hill" in the name of the resort, so why are people surprised it's actually located on a hill? LOL.
Tranquility of this place is amazing. Nature, animals, all basic facilities and wonderful wonderful staff that took care of me when I felt ill - that's what you'll find. The island hopping tour is worth booking with the resort - it's the best we've been to in the Philippines.

If you intend to visit Palawan you need to be more informed than I was. The Philippines are a poor country. Accommodation is cheap and as such you get what you paid for - No hot water, some cockroaches, you cannot swim in the water because of the jellyfish, plenty of sandflies and no shop to get any relief medication. There is no way to move around unless you organize transfers that cost you as much as your accommodation. A must see if you would like to see the culture. We were unable to snorkel due to weather

Roxas is off the beaten track, a place to go to escape the crowds and the commercial overload. The people that live in the village near Mecaja are genuinely happy to see you and show you around. Mecaja where we stayed works closely with the little community where they are established. Roxas is not for fancy restaurants, and shopping. It will offer you the raw basics and you will get on just fine. Mecaja will help make your holiday dreams come true.

The secluded minimalist vibe gives you that escape from the hectic world.
The laid back cafe/restaurant is great spot to do your online work since they have a nice Starlink connection or you can always find someone to chat with as the staff are friendly, warm and welcoming.
You can do diving directly from the resort to nearby islands and sandbanks or you can drive around by motorbike/scooter or car to nearby attractions.
The restaurant was really great especially for a small boutique hotel, and the specials were worth it!
Very nice, friendly and kind stuff. I feel myself like at home in my Mom😊
The room was very big and the bed with very comfortable mantras.
I was on my car and accordingly my plans, have to leave at 6 am. They wake up early and cooked breakfast for me 😄
So nice.
Guys, if you will be here, please stay in this hotel.
If you will tell the story, who advised you this place-you can tell the guy, who had a flight ✈️ with you in the same aircraft, when you landed on the different island.
The hotel is set on a road behind the main through road so it's very quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was local cuisine, rice with either corned beef or sausage and fried egg served with bananas and a glass of juice. Free tea and coffee is available from reception. I chose this location as it was pretty central in Palawan and allowed me to access Port Barton and numerous other locations fairly easily.
It‘s a very quid Island with friendly personal. I was now my third time on Modessa Island. The beach is very clean and good for snorkeling. There are many colorful corals at two sides of the Island. The resort has a shuttle service to pick up at Roxas City from the pier. The price include full board and the food is very good.
Really cute little hotel in Roxas. We were spsd to have an overnight but due to flight delays could only use it as a day hotel on our way to one of the islands. Staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. Great value.
