Very nice and comfy place to stay. One of the best bathrooms (shower nad toilet) we saw on Phillipines. Good and quiet aircondition. Very nice and helpful owners. We had pleasant talk with Chue and Larry.

Hosts were very friendly and informative about local things to see and visit.

I should start by noting that this hotel is located in a provincial area, so some things may not be up to the same standard you'd expect from a five-star hotel in a big city. Upon arrival, our first impressions were positive—the staff greeted us warmly and took our bags upstairs. The room we were initially given was a bit smaller than expected, but it had a balcony. The next day, the staff informed us that there had been a mix-up with our room, and they upgraded us to a much larger, nicer room. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the TV was excellent with built-in streaming services like Netflix and YouTube, plus reliable Wi-Fi. The room also had a spacious desk, chairs, a sofa, plenty of charging outlets, ample hanging space, and even provided dressing gowns. The aircon is excellent and keeps the room very cold if you need a respite from the extremely hot and humid climate. Overall, it was a lovely room in a convenient location, with tricycles easily available outside to take you into town. There is also a laundry shop very close by where you can drop off your clothes to have them washed, dried and folded and returned to you within 24 hours for an affordable price. I stayed here with my fiancé, who is from the same town. The hotel restaurant was well-presented, featuring a projector streaming music from YouTube, which created a nice ambiance. The food was well-cooked. When we checked out, the staff were helpful, carrying our bags downstairs and even returning a shirt I had accidentally left among the towels. There is an outside area where you can sit at night and have a drink if you like. The deposit for the week was also very affordable, only 1000 pesos.

Breakfast choices were really great, tasty and filling. -Giving you a really good start everyday. As well as dinner choices when we were staying in. The location of the Portofino Homestay, was amazing for us, as it's close to everything we wanted and not further away from anything than a joyful scooter drive won't bring you to. Not to mention the hosts help to make up a great family pool-party as well as the privacy we also could enjoy as a couple. Definitely coming here again! :D

There is a lot of attention to detail at Portofino. Mareeya, Craig and her family couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Everything you could wish for in the room from adaptor plugs to an umbrella if it's raining! It's right by the sea and you have breakfast overlooking Sogod Bay. Swimming pool also! Would recommend to anyone. We shall return!

SO hard to find a really nice place in between the travelling. This is it!
