The bamboo surf house was great for my needs and my budget. As a solo traveller safety, general comfort, and cost are top of mind. The staff here was friendly and the owners take time to get to know the guests. They are so helpul in suggesting things to do and places to get supplies nearby. I stayed here during the island-wide electrical outage. This was one of the few accommodations in northern Siargao that had a generator- run during optimal hours throughout the day. This was crucial for charging up phones and other devices. The staff was also helpful in sharing tips to navigate challenges during the electrical outage. I don’t know how I would’ve gotten by without them.
The property itself is nice and their restaurant is right in front of a beautiful beach. I stayed 5 nights— and even with the electrical outage, I wanted to stay much longer.
