Location, the staff were nice and helpful - we missed the breakfast one morning and it was not a problem for them to still cook it. Additionally, I got sick and they were kind enough to provide tea.

Iquitos is a fast bustling city with a lot to experience, but if you are a nature lover like me, who prefers a relaxing naturistic atmosphere, you’ll want to use Iquitos as your landing and launching point, so you can spend the bulk of your trip in the surrounding forest of the Amazon jungle. I don’t recommend tourists to stay more than a few days in the city, but you could easily spend months in the surrounding forested regions without boredom. There are so many adventures to be had out there.

Iquitos city is already fun, with a short plane trip, you get to know such a different culture from Lima, different music, expressions, food is amazing, colors, locals are very friendly. We took a tiny boat by the hotel de Turistas, next to the river and it took us around Belen, the floating city, then we walked to Belen market which was soooo interesting. Best to go early morning.
We traveled with our 10-year old child, so we took a local bus to QuistoCocha, were there is a wild animal zoo and a lagoon.
We loved the Casa de Fierro restaurant, delicious. Also went to Frio al Fuego floating restaurant, would only recommend it for late afternoon for drinks and snacks. We went for lunch and music was way too loud and sun was very harsh, but it had a magical view, so it would be nice for a lounge late afternoon.
We took a cruise for three nights into the jungle. Absolutely stunning. There are quite a few company options, different price range, but the Delfin cruise, was impressive.
Iquitos may be overlooked by many tourists since they travel to Cuzco, but it is definitely worth it.

If you're travelling to Iquitos, you're not there for Iquitos. You're there for the Amazon forest that lies beyond. If you have the money, stay at Treehouse Lodge. It's actually reasonable for what you get. All inclusive, your own private guide, excellent food, 2 to 3 private tours of your choosing, into the rainforest. And you stay high in the rainforest in a room built near the top of a living tree, hundreds of years old.

The King Suite was really big and the food was very tasty. We booked a massage which was wonderful and the pool is the best in Iquitos. It was just what we needed after a great adventure in the jungle.

The staff were amazing (especially reception staff) and very professional. The air con in the room worked well but was not blisteringly cold. The buffet breakfast was the highlight of Iquitos. Fresh fruit, waffles, french toast, hot food and lots of drink options. The pool and bar/restaurant upstairs was also a bonus (sushi was great, huge portions). Best hotel in Iquitos for the price. Great location.
It was very good quality of rooms and view was amazing. It was not very hot as it could be possible in the room. I choosed this option far from the center because it supposed to be quiet. And it was! I appreciate the silence at night near in this hotel, it was relaxing, quiet easy to get to the place taking a bus to the center just some minutes by foot.
Fantastic location in a quiet street, along the river, but still close to the city center. Beautiful colonial style building. Loved the swimming pool for hot days! Super friendly staff, breakfast was simple and good. A quiet hotel with a peaceful atmosphere.. Great value for money! If I come to Iquitos again, I'll be staying here.
Nice room with air-conditioning which is very much needed in iquitos. Room is a good size with cupboard and sitting area, heaps of outlets. Nice bathroom. WiFi was a bit inconsistent but generally good. Quiet in the hotel but pretty good location. Breakfast was buffet, plentiful and delicious.
They were very kind and welcoming, the rooms were very simple and basic, yet clean and comfortable. Perfect for someone travelling on a budget, not seeking luxury. Also there was no mold, which is something that you would typically find in hotels at that price range in Iquitos.
