It was clean and had what we needed for a night's stay in Santiago.
Hotel Galeria has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Santiago. Among the facilities at this property are room service and a 24-hour front desk, along with free WiFi throughout the property.
Santiago is NOT a vacation spot. I had to be there for work and there was absolutely nothing to do outside of my hotel. It was all strip malls and fast food chains and 2-3 hours to the closest beach. That said, the people are very kind and happy, but not much to see or do there.

Plenty to do for everyone's taste: shopping mall (huge one) a stone's throw from the hotel. A short drive from the hotel you have the city center. There are huge possibilities for hiking in nature and visiting national parks. The only drawback is that there is traffic all day long anywhere you go but it is too hot to cycle or walk!

If you're traveling by land in Panamá, Santiago is an important hub. Has lots of goods and services. There's not a lot of towns of any size between Santiago and David, keep that in mind if you're going to Chrirquí. It's the gateway to Santa Fé de Veraguas, Santa Catalina (Coiba), Puerto Mutis/Golfo de Montijo, and several other tourist destinations in the Azuero Peninsula.
