For us it was THE BEST place from all we had during our 3 weeks trip through Panama. The resort is quiet but within walking distance to the "donwtown", the whole place is beautiful and well maintained, the pool has tranquil view over the ocean, the food was great and the coctails as well:-) The double bed was huge (200x200 cm) and very comfortable. The bunk beds for kids were also fine.
Offering a restaurant, Hotel Iguanito is located in Santa Catalina, 80 metres from Santa Catalina Beach and 11 km from Lagartero Beach. Free WiFi access is available in all areas.

This hotel is a gem! It is cosy and comfortable and it has a very nice bar and restaurant area. The restaurant has the best food we have had in Santa Catalina. We ate there twice, and it was amazing both times. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. They can organise Coiba trips for you and get your laundry done. They speak both English, French and Spanish. The place was clean, had a nice terrace outside the rooms and good wifi. Highly recommend it!

Everywhere is near the centre in Santa Catalina. The air-con didn't work for the first day/night but was fixed as promised the next afternoon, with a full replacement of a brand new unit. Kitchenette has a stove, fridge, sink, drainer, cloths etc. Bed was comfortable and breakfast bar was convenient. Outside sitting space was also appreciated. (We didn't try the pool or sun loungers but there was plenty of capacity there). Right next to a cafe (SugaMama) for breakfast/lunch etc, and just uphill from a small supermarket. Handy for dive shops. Staff were helpful.
Boasting a bar, Hotel Brisa Mar is located in Santa Catalina in the Veraguas region, 200 metres from Santa Catalina Beach and 1.6 km from Estero.

The location is good, conveniently close to the beach and right next to the starting point for snorkeling and scuba diving tours to Coiba. Additionally, the room is beautifully clean and well-maintained.

We had a fantastic time at Tiki Lodge. The room was super clean and very modern—the bungalows are brand new. A big thank you to the team for beeing so kind and supportive; you made our stay even more enjoyable! When we’re back in Panama, we will definitely return. Highly recommended!
Santa Catalina is a lovely little village. The atmosphere is relaxing, people are friendly and it’s a nice place to hang out. The snorkeling and diving at Coiba island are impressive and gorgeous. A definite must!!

Santa Catalina is an interesting place.
Santa Catalina is an interesting place. If I were younger and a surfer, it might be awesome. At this stage it feels like it is still the frontier, the “wild west” of Panama. It is obviously super popular with the crunchy backpacker and surfer crowd, and judging by the development taking place (golf course down the road), it will soon be popular with the expats and gringos as well.

Good place to have a day trip to Coiba, we did an excellent snorkelling tour with Watching Dolphins.
Playa Estero is very pleasant for a lazy afternoon ( but better with a car!).
Some pleasant restaurants in the village : We liked lodge bar and restaurant, very good and friendly.
Very disappointed by Los Penguinos, beautiful view and nice for a drink, but very very very long service.
There is an ATM near the Pharmacia and supermarket.

I’ve been to Santa Catalina about 9x in the last 15 yrs.
I’ve been to Santa Catalina about 9x in the last 15 yrs. It’s clearly a place I enjoy. I’m there for the diving. If you go there to dive you should visit Isla Coiba … it’s world class. Of course you also have surfing, kayaking, fishing, walking on the beach or just relaxing at your hotel pool. Highly recommend getting out and enjoying one of the many restaurants. I also really like the people, who I find friendly and hard working. Hangout by the beach at sunset and you’ll find locals & tourist playing volleyball or just sitting over a cold beer enjoying the view.

Santa Catalina is quiet surf town.
Santa Catalina is quiet surf town. During the day, most of the restaurants were closed. There are two beaches, the nicer one is Estero beach, which is good place to surf, even for the beginners. You can do snorkling trips, diving, surf or kayaking to the Santa Catalina island, where the beach was great and water clear.

Santa Catalina is an extremely nice surfer town!
Santa Catalina is an extremely nice surfer town! It is definitely one of my favourite spots in Panama in general! It is more remote so if you are a solo traveler I would suggest staying in a social hostel.
The people are friendly and it is a really nice town as a beginning surfer or advanced.
And you should do the coiba tour!!! It is so beautifull, i have no regrets paying a little more for a tour like this.

The hostel offers everything you need while staying in Santa Catalina. The garden is equipped with many hammocks overviewing the ocean and stairs to the beach, the kitchen contains everything you need to make a more than comfortable cooking area and the (bath)rooms are very clean. In addition, the hosts are super welcoming and are always around to help you with anything. We would recommend doing the Coiba snorkeling tour with them, since we had an amazing experience. We even extended our stay with four nights.
Beautiful domain on playa Estero! You can take surf lessons, go to Coiba (booked a great tour with them), chill... I stayed a week, even without surfing and I could have stayed longer! It's so unique to be able to sleep in a cheap dorm in such a place! I heard many people who had a completely different (as in: worse) experience with Santa Catalina when they stayed in the center.
Amazing hotel with a beautiful infinity pool and a view on the pacific. The staff was very kind and helpful. The restaurant served great food, and some activities were organized (yoga, jujitsu..). The rooms are spacious and the beds very confortable.
As the first customers of Bambuda Santa Catalina hostel we had a great stay! It really looks like the pictures and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Location is also great, close to the surf beach and restaurants near the town.
We thought I would be more like a hostel, but I'ts a hotel kind of vibe. Very nice pool with a great view though . The road to get to Santa Catalina however is in very bad shape so keep this in mind.
