Exequiel and Stelly were the best hosts we’ve ever had. Polite, understanding, and helpful, but beyond that, they really know what they’re doing. Exequiel was very good at showing us how to do things we needed to do (get into the dinghy, best way to snorkel, where to snorkel). The trip was what we wanted to make of it. He took us to a few islands. When we asked to stay at one, it was an immediate, “sure, no problem!” Stelly was super friendly and an amazing chef. She said she’s not professionally trained, but I’m not sure I believe her. The food was delicious. Anyone that can get my wife to eat fish must be amazing at cooking. Most, if not all, of the seafood was caught right near our boat and sold to us by the local Guna, who are some of the friendliest people we’ve come across. The water is calm, the beaches are soft, the waves are gentle, the reefs are magnificent. Getting here is a chore, make sure you bring plenty of American cash, but man is worth it. Highly recommend. We are already planning our return. My wife reminded me to mention that the dog is the best-trained most well behaved dog on the planet. We will miss BigMac as well.

Play to Live San Blas, hotel in Mamartupo

Providing sea views, Play to Live San Blas in El Porvenir provides accommodations, water sports facilities, barbecue facilities, and a shared lounge. A solarium is available for guests.

Our stay with Paul and Daniela on Play to Live was by far one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Not only is San Blas a very very special place, Paul and Daniela go out of their way to make you feel welcome, comfortable and show you the real life at sea. Not to mention how amazing the food was. Daniela is an amazing cook and Paul makes the best pancakes! It was a real adventure where - in four days time - we got to experience so much different weather. From a little rain to beautiful sun and amazing sailing winds. Paul planned our days spontaneously based on the weather conditions. We appreciated his enthusiasm and knowledge and felt safe at all times. Paul and Daniela have been living in San Blas for some time and have taken the interest and time to connect with the local people and culture. They have shared their knowledge with us which we are very grateful for. We can’t wait to reconnect with them in the future and laugh till it’s dark. If you’re up for an adventure, this is the place to be!

Such an amazing couple of days sailing the islands of San Blas. Christian was the ultimate host, gracious, engaging and accommodating of all requests. Food was delicious - always had more than we good eat, but we did try! I didn't realize that we would have the entire boat to ourselves - what a pleasant surprise! This is such an amazing opportunity - highly recommend to those considering some time in paradise!

You have to know that the island itself is very pretty,...

You have to know that the island itself is very pretty, small and is meant for relaxation. The cottages are really rustic and beds aren’t comfortable, it is NOT a resort, you have to go with a mindset of staying on a deserted island and just be grateful that there are community toilets and shower. Definitely no luxuries but the views and star filled sky at night are awesome and worth the trip. The staff is amazingly friendly and they even have a solar panel fueled electrical socket in the dining area to recharge phone during the day
