We loved our time at the Oman desert camp. Our only complaint is that it was too short, but that was our own doing. Hosts were very kind and welcoming. We opted to stay in the tents for a more authentic experience; they were very comfortable. The meals were plentiful, especially dinner. Would recommend the nighttime stargazing camel ride and the 3-hour quad experience. The camp owner led us on an exhilarating adventure. It was the highlight of our 2 week trip across the Middle East.

The warmest welcome by Mr. Badr and his entire family. We felt privileged to stay with them enjoyed home-cooked, delicious food, and great company, exquisitely, prepared, sleeping arrangements, separate bathroom with everything one needs, separate dining area, and the lounge. We had a wonderful time. We chose to spend one night here and one in a different kind of accommodation in Wahiba Sands and it was perfect that way, exploring different aspects and views of the desert. The drive is a bit adventurous, however we felt safe as we had a guide to reach the camp from Bidiyah who helped us when we got stuck with our car.
The camp is truly on top of the dunes. If may not be the best one if you want to do lots of sand boarding as the individual dunes are not that high but the view is amazing. The food we had was one of the best in all our Oman trip!
Thousand Nights Camp is located in Shārqiyah. Some units are air conditioned and include a seating area with a flat-screen TV.The tented camp offers an outdoor pool.

Exotic place, while very comfortable, with lost of activities available.
The staff is very helpful.
We stayed at a standard (aka "premium") tent which was spacious, had a massive bed, with additional two beds provided for the kids. The toilet/shower were clean, however please mind that this is a desert camp/tent - so expectations should according (low pressure, water warm, not hot).
Food served at the camp was perfect (breakfast and dinner) - exceeded expectations.
The camp offers a lot of activities - to name a few: dune bashing; camel rides; quad rides; playground for kids; swimming pool; not to mention that arriving to the camp is a bit of an experience in itself.
Sama Al Wasil Desert Camp is located in Shāhiq and offers a restaurant buffet. It includes table tennis and darts. The accommodations will provide you with a seating area.

Perfect choice if you want a small comfortable camp, with basically nothing to do...no wi fi or buggies.... although they will arrange dawn or dusk camel rides (approx £15) and I think "dune bashing" which we saw, but did not do. The dawn camel ride escorted by a Bedouin was etherial and great experience, highly recommended. Food was "basic" but excellent and tasty. Sultan tent was very comfy with good bathroom, shower and HOT water! You need a 4 x 4 to get there as its about 15km from main road and we would recommend spending 30 OMR for their escort to come and initially meet you at the gas station on main road. Once you have made the journey you can easily navigate it again, but its quite isolated so the escort was reassuring. All staff very welcoming and helpful. Recommend 2 night stay, one is not enough!
