The cottage is beautifully presented - the decor and furnishings are lovely and the kitchen has everything we needed. Julia, our host, left us home made granola, baking , jams and fresh fruit, which was so thoughtful . The grounds are beautiful and it was wonderful. It was such a pleasure to be there.Everything about the place was fantastic . I couldn’t recommend it more highly .

Beautiful little hide-away in a newly renovated house (has a bit of an Tuscan look and feel). A bit of a mix up with the booking (we did it last minute), but the owners were quick to resolve it and were still very welcoming. Heaps of wild bird song at dusk and dawn. Free oranges, fresh eggs and a bottle of locally brewed cider topped it off. Easy drive to Matakana and surrounding areas; highly recommend visiting Brick Bay Wines & Sculpture Trail: https://www.brickbay.co.nz/

This place was amazing. The hosts were great and you could tell from the moment you got there how much love n pride they put in this lodge. They thought of every little detail ,from books and activities when you walk in to all the amenities you could possibly need. The property was very well looked after ,so much knowledge about the area. We went to a concert up the road n we were told a trick about parking that saved us when driving out . We can't wait for our next visit. Thank you so much!

Awesome B&B! Penny & Ross are absolutely wonderful, warm and generous hosts! Meeting and chatting with them was the highlight of the stay. Penny made a lovely continental breakfast for us. They had little gifts of homemade sweets left in our room as well as a bowl of fresh fruit and a large pitcher of water. The house is beautifully remodeled. They made us welcome to use their kitchen whenever we wanted. There is a separate guest sitting room with a tv if we wanted to relax on our own. The guest area had doors that allowed privacy from the main area. I didn't read the Bookings.com details closely - missed the sentence that said it was a cash booking. When we got there, I finally saw it. Penny came out to meet us and I explained we missed the note. She was soooooo nice. She invited us in to stay and suggested for us to just go to the atm the next day- wow! Fortunately, we had enough US dollars on us and she was so kind to accept it. We gave her a little extra just in case her bank charged a transaction fee. I really hope to stay here again when we return in a few years.
