The concierge at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful when we arrived. It really set the tone for our stay.
Our room was lovely and cosy warm. The under floor heating in the bathroom was divine and the heat pump was fantastic.
The heated pool, cedar hot tub, and sauna were lovely and clean. We really enjoyed using them.

The bush, the quietness and rustic charm.
We loved the feel of the place, its warmth and decor. Such a pleasure to be somewhere that strives to be at one with nature.
Wonderful breakfast provisions and the homemade sourdough was lovely.

Whangamata is a small town but has everything you need, several good restaurants and cafes, shops and bars. The beach is beautiful, sandy, wide and safe. It is totally unspoiled. There is a small harbour, lots of fishing and boat rides. The surrounding countryside and views are magnificent. At low tide you can walk to one of the small islands.

Whangamata can give you what you want, whether its a quiet peaceful time or a bit of a night out. Lovely walks whether ir is a beach, forest or hill walk. Golf course, cycling tracks, or just a gentle stroll on the beautiful beach. Lots of cafes, places to eat, like European, Thai, Indian, Turkish Kebab or fish & chips as well as 3 clubs in town for a small fee can enjoy a drink as well as lovely food. Downside is places close early & not like the big towns/cities for food & drinks.

A brochure on how to work the dishwasher would help.
A brochure on how to work the dishwasher would help. We don't have one at home so didn't like to use it. Also had difficulty getting TV going. We rang and a lady came and helped with that and connecting to WiFi.

The town centre is small but pretty busy for the off season we had been there. However, not on Sundays, were almost everything is closed. The beaches are fantastic and also the mountainbike park nearby is really nice (note: you need a daypass for $20)

We always find Whanga a great place to stay in the off season. It has a lovely small town vibe when there are less people around. The beach is a great walk from the harbour to the estuary. You don't need to drive anywhere just walk.
