Have spent Xmas at Tides last couple of years. Being a widow with some disability it's nice to go somewhere I know they will look after me.

We booked a private room with 2 single beds and were comfy and washroom clean and functional. Nice that room had a window for fresh air.
Staff were freindly. Good location short walk to downtown and close to botanical gardens. The pub food was excellent

This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond. However there is a path where you can walk to Stoke in at about 45 minutes. Richmond has many shops and supermarkets. Stoke has two supermarkets and a few shops.
