We enjoyed staying in a period building with lots of original features. We were lucky enough to have the whole of The Villa to ourselves with access to the kitchen complete with log burner for the unseasonably cold weather. Beautiful area to explore here too. Breakfast and meeting Sue and David was a highlight.

Pod was warm and cosy on a cold rainy evening.
Kitchen and bathrooms were spotless.
Kids loved it for something different. Wandered around the animals and tried our luck in the maze after tea.

It was a family-friendly environment that offered many activities for the kids and was well-equipped with a variety of resources to cater to our individual needs—a lounge room, adequate cooking facilities, and very clean ablutions with no major concerns. We fully recommend it for those who are looking for a space to rest and recover, an added bonus is waking up and heading over to the cafe for a hot breakfast.

This is a very rural and not very touristed area of New Zealand. If you want very fresh air, and very quiet surroundings with no sound except birdsong, this is the place. Views and scenery are very attractive without being spectacular. Make sure you fill your car with petrol and pack snacks. Some of the rural towns are very small and you won't necessarily find a cafe or a petrol station. Having said that, if you spot a cafe, it will probably be pretty good. I cannot get over how cafes in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand still have great coffee and delicious food.

A very relaxing place so quiet huge garden NO TV Plenty of room for a group. The Villa is like going back in time. A warm place but has wood fire that warms the whole house!! Would stay a week next time. Plenty of space for my dog to roam safely!!!

Love this place.
Love this place. Lots of friendly animals to pet and look at, a maze and play equipment to keep the kids entertained. The cafe has great breakfast. We were traveling in an electric car and they let us use one of the caravan plugs to charge our car. The cabins are super cute and cozy and warm.
