Parkside Motel, hotel in Richmond

Offering modern accommodation and situated less than a 20-minute walk from Richmond Mall and nearby vineyards, Parkside Motel also offers a courtyard and a seasonal heated swimming pool.

The motel was well-maintained, the decor was modern and relaxing, there were clothes washing facilities for guests (but $5 per load in each of the washing machine and drier), the kitchen was well-equipped, and the owners could not have been more kind and helpful. The location is great, on Highway 6 from Nelson to Murchison, and very close to Richmond's shops etc. You can get into central Nelson in 20 minutes at most. There was a table and chairs, and a comfortable lounging chair as well as the bed, and as a studio it was very spacious.

Very quiet place, there is no noise from roads or smth else. Should be very good for a big company as it has a comfortable room with fireplace and board games. That was not the harvest season, but we found some ripe plums. Exploring the farm is a good experience, too.

Good central point to explore the Nelson/Tasman area. Easy drive to the Abel tasman for a boat trip and beaches. Mapua is lovely. We enjoyed driving to the Willow bank heritage village open day in Wakefield and the lovely landscape on the drive there. Also a great bakery in Wakefield. Everything you need shopping wise is very close by in Richmond.

It's easy to get around Richmond and there are plenty of shopping and eating options. However I personally wouldn't stay there again, unless you have a specific reason to be there as there's not much to see or do - except for a tour of Pic's peanut butter factory. Avoid the main road out of Nelson as this was heavily congested most of the time.

I am sorry I put the wrong review with the wrong accommodation this accommodation was clean and tidy. Staff were wonderful. Sadly not enough hot water to do dishes in the evening then have 2 showers. Communal kitchen was a bit dirty though. Filthy class growing something in cupboard, 1 of the oven poured out smoke and the other ones seals were hanging out of the door. Had lots on information at the front desk which was very helpful.

The town was easy to navigate, the mall in particular was very compact but full of variety. Everything was easy to get to, very little traffic related delays or issues. The food was all reasonably priced, definiately wish we could have been there longer!

First time visitors to Richmond. Quite a long main Street.

First time visitors to Richmond. Quite a long main Street. Totally surprised me. Loved visiting the Op Shops. All big, clean and lots of people. Lots to see in Richmond. Parks were nice and kid friendly. Went to the Richmond Mall. Enjoyed shopping. I found it easy to drive in Richmond. Went out to the country for a drive. Excellent scenery. Houses appeared to be "different". Saw the oldest pub in NZ. Rained every single day we were there. That was the only thing disappointing about our trip.

Proximity to shopping mall and restaurants was great, a quick walk away. Two supermarkets at the mall. A short drive to Tahunanui Beach which has an amusement park and zoo so plenty of family entertainment.

Very friendly & helpful hosts. Louise even offered to take us back to the airport on the second morning to pick up our rental car rather than calling a taxi. Very quiet neighbourhood, though a car is a must if you want to eat out in town. Richmond is great for eating & food shopping (big Woolworth supermarket 5 min drive). The breakfast provisions were superb - especially the fresh fruit! Louise's garden is delightful & we enjoyed sitting outside to eat breakfast each morning.

A very large, very clean, Villa that has been well modernised, with aircon as well as fans, situated in a quiet street within a 5 minute walk to the main mall in Richmond. Great off street parking with a large deck. A very well appointed property that was very welcoming and comfortable.
