She had done such a great job of updating the property yet keeping the old-fashioned look. We took photos and video. We liked it so much. It was really great that we had access to the refrigerator and breakfast.

Reefton was a gorgeous old fashioned colonial feel town.
Reefton was a gorgeous old fashioned colonial feel town. The shops were cute and one-offs, Dawson’s Hotel served us a great dinner plus coffee earlier in the day. Visited Reefton Distillery which I recommend. Had morning tea at Broadway Cafe the day we left - wow! Incredible hot chocolate and cake. We arrived at 11.30am and by the time we left the queue was nearly at the door.
Reefton Hardware is worth a visit just for a banter with the girls - but do look around inside too!
Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming.
We pretty much walked everywhere - so easy to find everything. Next time we want to try the new pizza place - and we are already planning another trip…

Noisy, probably due to been almost fully booked.
Noisy, probably due to been almost fully booked. No one available for check in. Keys set out with names on a table. Didn't see staff for my entire stay. Security a concern for me as anyone could access the building

Things to do: Blacks Point Museum, The School of Mines, bargain hunting/antiquing (three second hand shops), angling, gold panning, tramping. Very friendly people. A compact town, everything is within walking distance.
The Reefton Power Station/Scheme is well worth visiting. The old Reefton power scheme (established in 1888) that provided electricity for Reefton's street lighting, is being reinstated. Much of the work has been done, and a 220 kw plant will soon be in operation. The water intake and race are along the Inangahua River, just upstream of Reefton, and can be accessed from Rosstown Road.

You have to see Reefton while walking, sitting and driving in the car is not the option!!! Reefton has a lot to see and do, the tea rooms bakery take away shops are amazing, people are very friendly and you find all sorts of shops there, small but lovely to brows thru. And the pies...so good. We are coming back that's for sure.
Was so impressed with how clean and well equipped the house was and all the little extras, like the BBQ, board games and lovely art wok around the house.
Felt like a real home, couldn't have asked for any better place to stay. Would defnitely recommend to any one else looking for a plave to stay in Reefton.
It is worth going to Reefton just to stay at Harold House. The historic home has been lovingly restored and is every bit as beautiful as the photos. And the breakfast was amazing. I never wanted to leave. Very close to the Main Street and only a couple of km from the spectacular Blacks Point museum.
Beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Very caring and accommodating about our dogs. nice to havd the use of a kitchen and lounge. Loved the rooms. Great breakfast. Made for a memorable stay in Reefton. Thank you Kelly.
Wonderful little hotel with amazing staff. Excellent shower, toasty warm room and super comfy bed. A an absolute added bonus being able to do a load of washing.
