We ventured into Picton to have a look around and the place was pumping. Free entertainment on the foreshore and the local pub was a great place for a quick dinner while being entertained by a great singer /musician in the garden. Fun place Picton, upbeat vibe

Picton is a small town but is a great entry point for anyone travelling to the South Island via ferry. It has interesting little shops in the town centre. It is a great place to explore the east coast from here.

Irish bar which was very close to the luxury apartments has lovely meals, filling and welcoming atmosphere. Picton is very beautiful, great place to relax with different places you can view the harbor from. Birdlife is amazing. If you want a nice easy walk , Bobs bay is great to take a picnic to.

I went for one of the higher priced options for a King Spa Bath Harbour View. Technically all that was true - the Spa bath was good but the Ocean view was not one of the rooms fronting the hotel onto the harbour but one that looked across the car park to the harbour backing onto the main road in Picton. Very think walls and heaps of traffic.
Fantastic backpacker hostel if you are backpacking in New Zealand. Very cheap and you can meet a lot of people. Also a nice cosy place and the staff are very helpful. The selfmade free dessert on 7pm is a very sweet touch too.
Good clean motel in an excellent location in Picton close to the ferry terminal and many restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful and also dropped us off at the Ferry Terminal as we had some large bags.
