Sandra and her mom are SO friendly and helpful. We loved our stay. She made it feel like home. The living room was nice to relax in a rainy day. The room was big and clean. Would definitely stay again.
Beautiful lake, swimmable, great for skipping rocks.
Beautiful lake, swimmable, great for skipping rocks. Excellent well maintained trail along the lake that is great for renting a bike. Very cute little town with shops, bars, and restaurants. The shops and bars offer outside seating with lake views.

The place is beautiful, especially Lake Wanaka.
The place is beautiful, especially Lake Wanaka. You can see the glaciers - Rob Roy Glaciers - even from the city centre (of course, they are far away). The weather is unpredictable here though. It can be rainy and cloudy in the morning and sunny by noon.

This was a one night stop and we were sorry not to stay longer, Wanaka is a beautiful place by a beautiful lake, probably a good place to visit soon before it turns into Queenstown! Have loved every place we stayed this trip but Wanaka would be number one to return to

Wanaka is like a wee Queenstown enjoy it while you can it is starting to sprawl and get too crowded. Go to the left hand side of the lake and walk in the Wanaka homestead garden it is stunning enormous trees.

We enjoyed staying at the Wanaka View Motel.
We enjoyed staying at the Wanaka View Motel. There are only a few units at the Motel which we liked. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. We had been traveling for a while so it was nice to see they had a washing machine we could use along with a dryer and clothesline. We could park our car and walk everywhere which was a plus. There is a big park in front of the Motel and the view is one of the best you will get in the town. We will stay at Wanaka View Motel the next time we are in the area.

My favourite town in my South Island itinerary, Wanaka has many activities to offer, from cycling to climbing peaks to just taking a stroll along the lake. The lake is ever present as the town centre sits directly alongside it, with the mountains in the distance. Unlike Queenstown, parking is never a problem as there are plenty of free parking lots along the lake. There are many food, ice cream, and coffee places in and around the town.

Everything was perfect! Location couldn’t be better! A really cozy apartment with a fireplace for cold times and an A/C to fight the intense heat of summer. Excellent kitchen with everything one may need. Super good and modern shower. A deck with a wooden table and chairs with the lake view for meals outside. And of course a super friendly host!
Definitely the best hotel among all those that we stayed in during out trip on the South Island!
Great studio living with everything you needed for a relaxing holiday. Bonuses were: the equipped kitchen (hob, pans, toaster, kettle, microwave, small fridge), I was thinking a small kitchenette but was happily surprised; the private lawn space to chill outside; the great shower water pressure. We knew the location wasn't in town but that suited us fine. I would choose this accommodation again over a hotel or lodge in the same price range.
The hotel was very close to the lake, restaurants and cafes. Everything was within walking distance. We had views of the lake and mountains from our balcony.
