The Boat House Studio in Tairua is Perfect for couples and solo travellers.
The Boat House Studio has been thoughtfully equipped by the owner (Beverly) there are some really nice touches in the furnishings and toiletries that make it feel up market and special.
The location is ideal for exploring the coromandel.
The town of Tairua is a short 5 minute walk and is a pleasant and quaint town with places to eat or shop.
We enjoyed having our breakfast and an evening drink on the balcony overture estuary.
The accommodation is particularly good for couples or solo travellers. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful.

The most beautiful location, very remote with a stream running along the border. The covered veranda was perfect for sitting and taking in the views of the well kept garden. Bathroom is beautiful and the log cabin feels so cosy, perfect for a Christmas break. Lots of blankets provided perfect for star gazing at night. The ideal place to take our dog who loved running around the garden and swimming in the stream.
You have to drive through the creek to access the house which I was worried about before arriving but we went across multiple time in a Nissan Tiida no issues. Would definitely stay again!
Oh and a beautiful waterfall just a short walk away, absolute bliss!

REally like this place, would like to have spent more time here as there was more tourist thing to do here than at Whitanga. Nice flat area for walking, good cafe and friendly people. Nice beach areas.

I’m a body boarder and I loved being so close to a great beach.
There is a nice cafe beside the takeaway shop. Good to have a Supervalue.
Meal at JKs one night. Lovely staff and delicious food.
Others had told us it was really posh and we could see that it has lots of expensive houses on the beachfront and over on the mountain in Tairua but also lots of less flashy houses and everyone we met was really friendly.
Would definitely visit again if we’re up that way.

Great for relaxation, mainly summertime. Had no options after hours for supplies tho ie supermarket, dairy, etc. There were a couple of restaurants to choose from. Cabana was very tasty, good service, and the staff were absolutely wonderful - offered us water and milk to take back to our accommodation as everywhere else was closed for the night. You could easily pushbike around and the beach was nice. We stayed one night and that was plenty for us.

The road is very winding which can be a bit of a struggle for those who experience travel sickness but the destination is worth it. Beautiful scenery, fantastic beach, small quaint shopping area where you can even buy swimming apparel if you have forgotten yours. Great if you are into swimming, hiking, biking or just relaxing!

We absolutely loved our stay at Pauanui Pines, the facilities are wonderful and there is absolutely everything you need to have a great time away from buckets/spades for the beach, bikes, tennis, pool and plenty of pool toys, spa, the biggest DVD selection, plenty of outdoor toys and games for the kids and so much more. We can't wait to go back again!
Puka Heights has the most stunning location nestled in the hills above Pauanui and it’s beautiful beach. For us it was an ideal base from which to explore the Coromandel Peninsula and a tranquil and beautiful place to return at the end of the day. Angie and Warren are the warmest and most generous hosts. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
