I arrived in tears after an emotional day and was greeting with a comforting hug and cup of tea. In the morning I had coffee with the alpacas and stunning view. Perfect stop before a day trip driving out through Arthur’s Pass. Highly recommend the hike ‘Trig M’ and stop whenever u can on the drive to Arthur’s Pass. The drive is the best bit!

Very accommodating staff as we checked in late before 8pm from Hororata glow festival when the Ashley Gorge gate was already closed after 6pm, the staff was very nice and accommodating and understanding as had been arranged prior late arrival.

We decided to go to Oxford to stay at the tiny home which is very quirky. Oxford township was only a 5 minute drive away and had a small supermarket and all the basic requirements which a small NZ town has to offer. Also had a petrol station and services a wider farming community.

Oxford is a lovely little town.

Oxford is a lovely little town. There is much to do in the countryside around (Alps, walks, Ashley Gorge, etc etc). In the town there is a nice little museum, all well-run. Lots of other things to do there: observatory for spying the sky, many facilities in and around town. Great coffee shops, pizza. The diner is a must-do! The pub (Rustic Hotel) is another must-do. very friendly, great music and atmosphere, good beer too. That pub is also a popular backpacker stay, as it should be. I would most highly-recommend Oxford to anyone: (a) As a brief meal stop on the Inland Route; (b) As an overnight stop; (c) A destination for domestic or international visitors; or (d) People from Christchurch wanting a weekend break or simply a day-trip.

Lovely and convenient ocation in Oxford. Best motels we've ever stayed in. Modern, clean, all the comforts considered plus bonus touches like cookie time cookies and plunger coffee upon arrival. It was such a treat before the start of our west coast camping trip. Highly recommend!!!
