This place is perfect in so many ways.
Host meeting you on arrival - staff appear whether you wander out of your room and ask if they can assist. Amazing service. Every member of the team was perfectly polite, engaging, and responsive. They will organise anything that you want - trips across the surrounding area. One couple had a helicopter trip and it literally landed on the lawn of the place. That is defeintly the way to end a long day!
Location - stunning is the word you will probably read most about this place. And it actually is.
Room - we had the room with the terrace - I would book this again - as you walk straight out from your room into a courtyard which is in the shade and sun in the afternoon.
This is an all-inclusive accommodation - it has to be as it is a trek from the local towns. The food was extremely good. It was never too much or too little the chief has got the balance right.
At the end of the trip I left items in the room (very annoyed with myself) the owner looked after them and made sure we got them back.

Tranquil town away from the touristy hubbub of Te Anau but within range to catch the tour to Milford Sound. The Church restaurant served excellent meals at a reasonable price. Probably best suited to tours to Doubtful Sounds, but we did not mind the 20 minute drive to Te Anau.

Manapouri is a breathtakingly beautiful area with a quiet restful atmosphere. There is a lovely restaurant nearby and other food outlets. Lots to do in the area too. There are the day and overnight trips to Doubtful Sound, a stunningly beautiful area that will blow your mind. You do need to book ahead for these trips. There is also glow worm caves, alpaca farms, Kaykaking, tramping and more. Do your research and enjoy an amazing time in Manapouri.

Manapouri is a very small, lakefront town that has a beautiful view of Lake Manapouri and the mountains beyond. It also has a fantastic cafe/bar/restaurant called The Church, which I thoroughly recommend. However, don't stay at the Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn if you can avoid it.

I'm so happy we booked three nights at this place in Manapouri. It was quiet and so close to what we wanted to do...Milford out of Te Anou and Doubtful out of Manapouri (5 minutes). I would definitly stay here again!

Manapouri is a quiet place with few amenities, does have a church pub restaurant which was great, a must visit . And an antique traders shop and cafe and petrol.
Station . The area is very close to the Doubtful
Sound cruise terminal, which has cruises daily into Doubtful
Sound which takes you across lake Manapouri .
The lake is tranquil
And unspoilt with walking and cycling tracks along its shores.

The location was perfect for my trip to Doubtful Sound. Easy parking close to the door and handy to the rest of the village. It was easy to find the property when I arrived too. Warm and comfortable with all I needed. Thank you John. Happy to recommend your lovely cottage to anyone looking for a place to stay there.
These were the cutest rooms on a campsite. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Possum Lodge is in a great spot, you can walk through the woods to the harbour for the boat trip to Doubtful Sound. Its just a shame there isn't a view of the lake.
The kitchen was basic but adequately equipped.
