The location is perfect. We were glad we stayed just outside of Wanaka. It allows for a quiet night in a beautiful location yet it’s easy to get into town and to a nearby lavender farm.
We had dinner at the lodge one night and it was excellent. Far surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed breakfast as well
Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Luggate is a quiet village with an authentic, unpretentious NZ pub and not a lot else in the village itself, but it is close to Wanaka, which an attractive, modern small town, offering offers a variety of things to do, and there are various attractions, including a lovely lavender farm on the road between Luggate and Wanaka.
There are a wide variety of good places to eat in Wanaka, to suit most tastes.
