Super friendly proprietor. I had some unusual needs, and they went out of their way to help. Views over the fields to the river were very nice (for my tastes) and give the sense of really being out of the city).

This was a surprise booking on our way back from the airport and it didn't disappoint! I'm not a camper but loved this place!
Fabulous views and a very quiet location would make for a lovely longer stay. The bed was high but warm and comfortable, and it had all the facilities you could possibly need.

Karu and his wife were very kind. Plates, cups, silverware, water kettle, microwave and a small refrigerator were in our room. Instant coffee and fresh milk was also provided. We loved the large closet. Ok WiFi.

The town is next to the Waikato river so you can walk along it. They have walking trails also. You can cross the river upstream and visit the huntly power station. There's a lake across the railroad tracks 5 minutes from the town centre where you can picnic or go for a swim.

We walked around Lake Hakanoa. Really interesting walk.
We walked around Lake Hakanoa. Really interesting walk. Good picnic spots. Shame some areas had litter. Had a fish meal at Huntly Fish and Chip Shop. Highly recommend. Lovely people. Lovely service. Food was lovely and plentiful. We ate in.
We went to Lake Puketrini. Would be good place for a walk and picnic.
Unfortunately the Coal museum was closed. There are items referring to the coal mining in the town. They are interesting. some good shops in Huntly.
Parking can be at a premium.

Local tavern that is part of hotel was full of happy friendly people. The town had good food takeaway shops but pity they not facing river. Town is clean and I love the old shop facia. Good variety of small town shops.

Lovely peaceful spot in Huntly. No problem booking and paying cash second time around. Greeted by a lovely gentleman who quickly booked us in with no hassle as we were extremely tired from travelling.
Older style hotel, refurbished, huge room, huge bathroom, scrupulously clean just some wear and tear on paintwork. Comfortable bed - nothing fancy but lovely and warm. Lovely staff.
Wasn't thinking it would be much as its huntly. But it was better then staying at my x place and I would stay there again. They could use money and do the bathroom up better
Amazing brand new accommodation, 5 mins out of Huntly, end of the road on a farm. Incredible rural views, stunning sunset. Very welcoming hosts. Highly recommended
