A relaxing place to stay overnight, everything we needed was in the accommodation. A nice spacious place, which was clean and tidy. It was nice sitting outside on the balcony overlooking the river. Would happily return.

Dargaville is a great town.
Dargaville is a great town. Shopping centre is reasonably comprehensive. You need to research things to do. In summer Kai Iwi lakes is a great place to visit, swim, launch your boat ( if you have one) stay in the camping ground or just pitch your own tent. There are plenty of cafes and eating establishments. Research the area and things to do in the area before you go.

Town with proud history, has retained many of its heritage buildings. Friendly locals, beautiful river views and handy compact town centre to stock up for trips to the kauri forests or to the beaches. Baylys Beach is closest (12 km) and beautifully rugged with massive dunes that go on for miles.
Kai Iwi lakes is also a very nice spot (45 km away).

Great position at the top of the Kaipara Harbour.
Great position at the top of the Kaipara Harbour. The town was clean and public facilities well kept. We enjoyed the Dargaville Museum immensely. One day we may take the boat trip from Helensville to Dargaville, which comes highly recommended.

We went out to Kai Iwi lakes to have a look as we had never been there before. I loved it out there an wish I was a bit younger and fitter to enjoy the area more.

Not Dargaville's fault but the weather was terrible.
Not Dargaville's fault but the weather was terrible. Dargaville seems to be doing ok. The only negative thing was BP making their petrol look cheaper than other Service Stations by taking 6 cents off the displayed price.
Staff very helpful and welcoming. Our short stay - 1 night - was very comfortable. Kitchen area well equipped. Dargaville a lovely town and we enjoyed our meal at the Northern Wairoa Hotel - interesting ambience! Lot to see in this town.
Great traditional kiwi motel, Alan was very friendly and helpful. The room was huge and the kitchenette had all the necessary utensils to cook a couple of meals. Good location within walking distance to Dargaville.
Hill's hideaway is the hidden gem of Dargaville, the hosts are just amazing friendly and warm people. I cannot fault anything
as everything in the room was of superior quality and we felt right at home.
very central, friendly staff. The hotel is historic and reflects this ( small rooms etc) but as someone who appreciates history I loved the ambience. Restaurant food was delicious.
