Christchurch is a chill and relaxing place.
Christchurch is a chill and relaxing place. It is beautiful. clean and tidy. The greenery is fantastic, with beautiful parks around the city. The people are always helpful and with a smile on their face.
It is quite easy to go around the city, whether walking, cycling, using the bus etc. Alternatively, one can explore beyond the city by taking tours. There are a number of tour operators whose tour leaders
know their stuff, are customer focused and do their best to pass on their knowledge to their clients.
The theatre scene is popular and good productions are raised.
Recommended to visit.

Christchurch is a city still undergoing renovation after the earthquakes of a decade ago, there are still many signs of the destruction. Hunt out the art on the sides of the buildings it is worth the effort. Hagley park and the botanical gardens are worth a visit and you can spend several hours there. Most public museums are free to enter giving respite from the weather.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Christchurch
Bruce was a fantastic host. He upgraded us to the best room which happened to be empty that night so that we wouldn't have to share a bathroom with other guests. The bed was probably the most comfortable we've slept on in any hotel, and the little garden terrace was lovely. Highly recommended any visitors to Christchurch stay here. The bus stop isn't far away and goes straight to the CBD in 30 minutes or so.
We had planned to spend the night at a hotel as our flight to ChirstChurch was coming in late and this hotel offerred a free airport pick/drop.
The shuttle pickup was smooth when we reached ChristChurch quite late. We got a drop to the airport the next day and we could get a rental and get on with our SOuth Island road-trip.
The room was super clean and the beds were comfortable.
The hotel is within walking distance to the the airport/terminal. A hotel shuttle is also available even in the uncivilized early morning hours - which is useful especially in case of heavy luggage. A hotel restaurant is fine, and there are some other meal options nearby. A 15 minute drive to down-town Christchurch.
