We stayed in the Bellbird Cottage, and it was much nicer than I expected. It seems recently renovated and well maintained. The Butter Chicken special at the restaurant was very good, as were the calamari twists. The beds had heated mattress pads.

We stayed at the property in mid-August 2024 for two nights in the Three-Bedroom Apartment; literally, we had the whole upper floor to ourselves. It was like staying at home, where you had everything you needed to stay comfortable. If you prepare well, you will enjoy the stay and serenity of the area. Please be reminded again that the supermarket and gas station were not closed or in the area. A physical credit card was needed, but no Apple Pay.

Amazing location to explore the Caitlin’s. Very cute cabin. Comfortable and clean. Good kitchen facilities which was important as there are no restaurants or shops very close to the area.

Our cabin, Kaku, surrounded by trees and birdlife, overlooked rolling green fields dotted with sheep and the surrounding hills. It was so peaceful. Within 2 minutes walk were magical forest paths lined with magnificent tree ferns, crown ferns and undisturbed vegetation. The cabin was beautifully decorated, and contained books on the area, games, a well equipped small kitchen with a barbecue on the balcony. The old house on the estate was built in the 1920s and creates a feeling of timelessness. The owners helpfully supplied local history and tourist information and were so welcoming. We would have happily stayed longer in this unique oasis of tranquility and nature and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates these special qualities.

Hospitality of our hosts and the cottage had everything we needed. We enjoyed the sea views and ability to walk easily to a spectacular beach and stunning forest loop walk. Our hosts Mary and Fergus are vibrant with roots in art, conservation and tourism, and it was a highlight to meet them.
There are lots of beautiful walking spots. Due to raining we had to skip the spots we were interested in. Start kaka point (we saw seals), nugget point ( beautiful view it’s must)., Paramaribo fall( it’s beautiful). We missed taituku boardwalk (next time!)We booked whistling frog resort to stay one night. It was good choice because of location. McLean fall and cathedral cave are close by. Clean and comfortable accommodation.

We unfortunately had to use the camp kitchen as we had no utilities with us .
The kitchen was great but the utensils were sooo bad . I know they can't have expensive utensils ( as there are people who steal ) ??? But please upgrade .. Not hard ..the cutting boards were soo dodgy must be years old and really well past the use by date ... Just germ harbouring .. For $110 a night ...very ordinary .
