It has a great location near Thamel. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. The room has a nice view of the city and maybe the mountains (unfortunately we stayed during the monsoon season so cannot really tell)

Wonderfully comfortable! The staff are kind and helpful. The restaurant is delicious and good value. The location at the edge of Thamel is a great balance of access and peacefulness. I was very happy to spend the week with Kumari Boutique as my home base.

Kathmandu is definitely not for everyone, but I really like...
Kathmandu is definitely not for everyone, but I really like it. I have been there before, and liked it last time too. There is a ton of stuff to see and do, it is really inexpensive for Western Travelers, and the food is excellent. On the flip side, Kathmandu is also insanely chaotic with crazy traffic and air pollution. It is a very poor country, and it shows everywhere from the strange tangles of wires hanging from the telephone poles, piles of building material lying about, unpaved streets and run-down appearance of many of the neighborhoods. If you are unfamiliar with this you might be put off by it. But if you are a world traveler it isn't really any different than any other exotic place, and Kathmandu is very exotic. It has such a cool vibe to it that I highly recommend you try it, and try to understand it. The people, despite their poverty all seem very happy and content, and they are so nice and kind- It is another world, but one you should not be afraid to embrace.

Capital city of Nepal. Little crowded then other place but people are visiting this place from all over the world. People start their tour from here and go for trekking, or extreme sports to other parts of the country.

Before monsoon. KTM hot and humid. Also, lots of traffic and traffic jams. Hard to find a friendlier city. Nepali people gracious and welcoming. In this life a person should visit KTM Valley UN World Heritage Sites. Do not miss Durbar square, Lalitpur, or bhaktapur.

I was in Kathmandu - Thamel It's a nice place to stay in my point of view, Bcz all happening things and shopping can do in this area.
In Kathmandu mostly visitors can see heritage, historical places & religious places.
I recommend people to visit:-

3. Asan Bazar (Pls visit within 7.00am - 9.00am)
4. Pashupatinath Temple
5. Swayambhunath Mahachaiys (Monky Temple)
6. Boudhanath Temple
7. Patan Durbar Square (Lalitpur)

It was very pleasant staying with great cheerful staff of Thamel Grand Hotel. The hotel's front desk office staff Buddha and karuna were really helpful and enthusiastic person.
My wife and I had a very wonderful sight seeing/city day tour organized by the hotel's manager. The guide and Pramit was perfect who drove and explained about the historical places we visited around Kathmandu valley.
It's a great hotel. It's a maximum of 5 minutes walk to any place in Thamel. But avoided the main problem of this area- noise. The hotel is a bit far from the road, so absolutely quiet, even if you sleep with the open windows.
The staff is excellent, the quality of the hotel at a solid 4*

It’s an average hotel for Nepal. Personnel was super nice and the room was comfortable. Nothing special. Shower was hot and that is a plus here for sure! The location not the best in an alley with no exit but near the busy streets of Thamel. Nothing bad just nothing extraordinary about it.
The hotel was so pleasent and calm. It is situated in thamel area which is very helpful for marketing and very near to all. Owner keshav ji & all of the staff are very friendly. Best hotel to stay.
