The Stalheim Hotel is in an exceptionally beautiful location, hign the hills in fjord country. Our room had a stunningly good view up the valley and was clean and perfect for us. The meals were exceptionally good, both breakfast and dinner. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Hiking in the area is delightful.The historical maps, furniture and artifacts in the common area are quite interesting. This is a wonderful place to stay or to have a destination event like a wedding.

If you stay in cabins 1 to 9, you will have a good view of the waterfall which is the USP. Toilets are clean, you can loan kitchen equipment from the reception for free (inform them in advance). The kitchen has no equipement otherwise. Parking is next to your cabin. No cleaning fee if you clean yourself.

We booked a triple room and it was allocated in another building; which little away from main building with reception. Seemed like it was a make-shift arrangement to accommodate the booking. Building was in pathetic condition and sounded like no one had stayed there in last few months (may be a year).
* No WiFi at all - we repeatedly requested but we got only false commitment that someone will come and fix it. But nothing happened
* No TV (they had TV but not way to plug the power). How someone can fix the TV at the spot where you can not get the power?
* Surprisingly room was very cold, I don't know may be due to leakage or may be its due to located in the basement or something else (although it was July).
* Very basic breakfast options with very limited options and we had to ask the staff for every single thing such as milk, bread etc.
* Staff seemed confusing, with no idea what to help with or no motivation to help perhaps.
Overall the stay was like a punishment.. One could get better options for the rate we paid. This hotel lacks even a very basic amenities.

Very good hotel if u're looking something on rush during long and tiring trip thru Norway. Building very old outside and inside, remembers 1917 year, that's why because of intriguing history and great location I gave higher note. Good price equal with quality. Fast free Wi-Fi internet. Small free parking. Very nice and friendly man working there probably alone as a receptionist, cook and room service (wasn't seen with any help during our stay). Breakfast very good. Recommend.
Hotel with a nice view of the lake. Helpful staff, good breakfast, good WiFi coverage. I completely do not understand the low ratings here, the equipment is older, but all clean and functional and at a suitable price.
Amazing staff, made our anniversary extra special with complimentary cake, dessert and drinks, table was well decorated for the occasion, can highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an awesome stay
