Although a good walk from the rail station, once the route became more familiar it was fine. One of the staff showed me a better walking route to get back into town than the Google Maps option. Staff were really helpful and like many Norwegians speak excellent English (I don't speak Norwegian). Room size just right for a single traveller. Good breakfast. Swimming pool and gym for those who wanted these facilities - I didn't have enough time to use either.

It was like living in a museum, with furniture and furnishings from previous generations, all in good condition and comfortable.
