The receptionists were particularly helpful. Veronica recommended the town of Sandane and arranged for me to stay at Hotel Gloppen which proved to be very nice.She also recommended the floating sauna which I greatly enjoyed and the boat trips to the islands.

Svanøy is called "The pearl of Sunnfjord" and rightly so. A lush island with a long and varied history. Early industry is in the past, but modernity is present with a deer farm for research, as well as a place for smoking salmon and fish farming. Roads are very narrow and few, but bicycle renting is possible, a nice way to see the island. There are also a lot of footpaths to further explore the place. Vegetation is very diverse and hosts species seldom seen in the area. There is a shop for groceries and a pub to visit with a nice selection of beer crafted nearby in Florø, as well as food based on deer and salmon. Go find out!
