We were near to the fjord cruise and bus station, also the viking village and a shop, restaurant are nearby. The viking room with glas rooftop was nice, comfy, the view was wonderful. Staff is kind, breakfast is very good, even if it a low season, we had everything we needed.

The Stalheim Hotel is in an exceptionally beautiful location, hign the hills in fjord country. Our room had a stunningly good view up the valley and was clean and perfect for us. The meals were exceptionally good, both breakfast and dinner. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Hiking in the area is delightful. The historical maps, furniture and artifacts in the common area are quite interesting. This is a wonderful place to stay or to have a destination event like a wedding.

Location. They are worse . I book room without view. They give me room not in the main hotel. They give me room in another small building have 10 rooms. Look like staff rooms . They are raciest. All white people get in a main building.

Very clean, and breakfast was delicious! The staff was very friendly and the view of the fjord was amazing! Walking distance to a small grocery store and a Gastropub that had an excellent dinner and bar menu!

We stayed in a fisherman's hut, right on the water. It was gorgeous. We even got lucky and were able to see the northern lights over the fjord from our little porch. The restaurant and included breakfast were delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
Easy and pleasant hike along the old road to Bakka.
Easy and pleasant hike along the old road to Bakka. An hour there and an hour back.
I caught the Lady Elisabeth ferry to Flam and had it all to myself. The Monday 8.30am ferry in the off season is a winner! I noticed that the 9.30am catamaran was much busier when it arrived in Flam around 20 minutes after my boat. Obviously a shorter but more popular journey.

We read great reviews about the Viking Village - honestly I would give it a miss. I wish we had done kayaking instead of the village that morning, waste of time and money. I love museums, and cultural/heritage ones especially. But this one was disappointing. Limited food options in town and be aware the shuttle bus back to Flam DOES sell out! Book tickets early!

It's a nice and calm town.
It's a nice and calm town. The Vikings museum is a must-have to visit. You can go kayaking or on a trip on a ferry. You can also go hiking or enjoy the beauty of nature. There is a small grocery store available with all the essential things.

A spectatular setting where you can just relax and soak up the magnificent scenery. Fire pits to keep you warm while you sit outside (with a drink). The staff were extremely friendly. Right next to jetty where you can pick up the fabulous, all electric, boat to Flam (which is also just a 15 minute car journey away). The Viking Village is a 3 minute walk away and well worth visiting - something we nearly dismissed but really pleased we didn't! Menu a little limited for those staying more than a few day but the food we did order was excellent. A unique and wonderful end to our dream holiday!

It is a wonderful place on the fjord with views you will never forget. The house is big enough and has everything you need. The host is accommodating and lives nearby, so you can always ask for help. There is a motor boat available at a highly fair price. Very quiet place with scenic views and one of the greatest hikes within walking distance. You can also use sauna and BBQ. The parking is free right near the house.
The location is just perfect: inside the fjord surrounded by mountains, with a view to the highest waterfall of Norway, if I'm not mistaken. The hotel consists of several houses, we got a house quite far from the main building with restaurants, so we had to have a 3-4 minute walk. The house was clean, with a fresh interior. It was possible to park a car next to the house.
Large room with nice view of waterfalls. Not many choices of rooms this time of year so this was the best! More private than their sister hotel with Nordic themed rooms.Restaurant a few steps away was surprisingly good!
Located beside the fjord with stunning views; tourist attractions and activities were within the vicinity, like the Viking village, fjord cruise, and water sports. There was also a convenience store outside the hotel.
