Very welcoming. Slightly basic dining with a set menu but really good staff managing well. Coped well with the large number of coach parties.

The cabin was fantastic for us. My son and I travelling through Norway on a motorbike. There is a kettle and basic kitchen items - no running water / drainage at the cabin but a 30 second walk takes you to a large kitchen area with 2 oven / cookers and three washing up sinks. This is shared with all the cabins/ camping people but works very well. Everyone keeps it very clean and it’s well stocked with cooking utensils etc.
The whole venue is very well run and Looks brand new. There are 2 washing machines to do laundry and there is a large drying room to dry clothes afterwards. I found the staff very helpful and polite.
The cabins also feel new and are very well maintained and cleaned.
Breakfast was a buffet and for around £8.00 was very reasonable and fresh - with a great choice.
Lastly the setting is beautiful. The lake is lovely and there is lots of space for children to play and adults to relax
Facing the seafront in Solvorn, Villa Solvorn has a garden and a terrace. The property features sea and mountain views, and is 27 km from Kaupanger Stave Church.

The location of the apartment is good for those who wanted to drive to Geiranger and take a break from the long driving. The view from the aprtment is wonderful especially in winter with some snow on the lake. The cooking facilities are functioning well and they are clean.
We had to book hotel rooms as we did not have linens with us but the price is way too much compared to the cottages. We booked a superior room. The kitchenette had 2 wine glasses, a sink and a refrigerator. No dishwasher liquid or a sponge. It was a bit disappointing. The carpet was overworn. The staff was great, very friendly and always ready to help. There is a restaurant on the ground floor serving mainly pizzas. Those were nice but nothing special. There is a market nearby withing walking distance.
It was was possible to sit outside all together and use the barbecue place. Kind host who offered to drive our luggage from the hotel to cabin as the coach could not drive all the way through. Nice view and the shops were in walking distance, friendly staff.
- The staff (at the hotel reception and restaurant) were very nice
- Very nice view from the cabin towards the mountains
- Possibility to order Pizza at the Restaurant nearby for take-away. Expensive though.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom cabin for two nights. The cabin was roomy and the kitchen was well equipped. The staff at Gaupnetunet were very helpful and welcoming.
