You get what you pay for. I read the comments on Booking.com and lowered my expectations. The location worked for me. Pleasant views over the lake and mountain. No TV's or WIFI in the room so very peaceful at night.

Wonderful location, remote, marvelous view at the lake.

We enjoyed (our stay at Resnevs Hotel)
- sleeping well (good bed, not too hard, not too soft)
- waking up with the soft sound of the water in the fjord
- the clean room
- the view on the fjord from our room
- the delicious buffet with great sunset
- the milk-can we were given for the milk in our tea
- the change to train our dancing
- playing the piano
- walking up the jetty and overlooking the fjord
- the help on all our questions
- the relaxed atmosphere
and we were able to make some beautiful walkings in the area
We arrived just ahead of a busload of teenage schoolchildren who were staying at the hotel. We were entirely grateful to Benjamin, who checked us in, then showed us to a delightful terrace where he served our dinner so we could eat peacefully away from the dining room full of noisy kids.
He then found us the perfect room in the quiet wing of the hotel where we slept soundlessly until 8am

The location is next to none! Right on the fjord with is own jetty from which to watch the sunset, beautiful.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the Elk burger was lovely.
Sadly I’m unlikely to travel this way again, but if I did, I would head straight here.
The 12:15 ferry from Hirtshals gets into Kristiansand around 15:30 which makes the Revsnes Hotel a perfectly comfortable first stop in Norway.
Family friendly hotel in a superb location. free paddle boats for the kids, can swim in the lake, and nice views all around. The staff were super friendly and relaxed with checkin and checkout times. breakfast was also good, and a healthy start to the day.
Nice place and family owned. Not comparable with high tech hotels but therefore charming and warm. Great food for diner and everything you need for breakfast. We stayed 2 nights for hiking, great place in October :-)
