Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri, hotel in Aurland

Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is located in the oldest buildings in the village of Aurland. Situated on the shores of Aurlandsfjord, it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

It's a cozy cottage right on the fjord with an unforgettable view. in the heart of beautiful Aurland. Close to the grocery store, shops, and nice bakery in the village. The fjord sauna is right in front of the property. Comfortable beds, equipped kitchen. If something is missing they are willing to help at the reception if they can. Free parking is available. It's a perfect starting point for many trips in the area. I would recommend Fjord Cruise, kayaking, Flamm village, and Stegastein viewpoint.

The place was beautiful, it had the most amazing view ever. We didn´t have loads of contact with the staff but it was very typical Norwegian trust. The other guests were very nice.

Great location with a fantastic view on the fjord, away from the hustle and bustle of Flam, however, can be slightly tricky to get around, although you just need to book onto the shuttle bus for a small fee in reality, so it's not that big of a deal.

Aurland is a small village situated in a beautiful fjord environment sorrounded by dramatic landscape. Flaam and Stegastein Viewpoint are in the vicinity of Aurland. The best way to see the fjord landscape is from above. Spectacular scenary.

    Aurland was super pretty.

Aurland was super pretty. Definitely happy then we didn't stay at Flam, the view and town was amazing. There is a fun steep hike to take with a nice cottage along the way. Even though the weather was pretty rainy, we enjoy our stay with a cozy atmospheric mood. Only difficulty was the bus ride from Flam to Aurland, because we weren't sure from where the bus is going and then it came late, so that was a bit stressful. Also we definitely recommend the little Flam bakeri with delicious cinnamon buns!

Beautiful and loved staying here. Cute town and lots nearby.

Beautiful and loved staying here. Cute town and lots nearby. If you have a car it's so easy to drive between towns and various hiking spots. If you don't you can catch buses or the ferries to get to and from flam. I didn't find this hard in high season with the ferries but the buses were a bit confusing. They seem to run until 7 or so be careful not to miss it. .there's a grocery store that's well equipped, a great bakery and pretty much all you need for a quiet stay.

    This place is a must-visit.

This place is a must-visit. It's quiet, but not too quiet—its what we Swedes would call "Lagom" We originally traveled to Aurland because my fiancé and I felt very depressed. City life can do that to you. We wanted to feel closer to nature, and Aurland was perfect for that. It was very therapeutic to climb the mountains, go on the "fjord" safari on the water, and eat goat cheese pizza in Undredal. Our visit to Aurland made us fall in sync with nature again. The people living there were friendly(I think Norwegians overall are much friendlier than Swedes), and now we are honestly considering moving to Norway—that's how good the trip was. Excellent place!

Although wide choice was available for breakfast, the fact that the portions were kept heated for a long time, meant rubbery scrambled eggs and congealed baked beans. On the other hand the freshly baked and warm croissants were a real treat. It is a Norway's best hotel and as such it was very easy to book excursions from the machine located in Reception.

The guesthouse was a lovely old hotel in the small village of Aurland and located a few metres from the Sognefjord.. It was full of character with breakfast next door in a 300 yr old building. Well positioned for visiting Flam, Uredal, Gudvangen and the Stegastein viewpoint but quieter than touristy Flam. Loved it.

The cabin and location. Views were spectacular and close to Aurland to access shops for groceries. Nothing on site. Was a cool place to stay. Cabin clean, linen clean and fresh. Loved this experience. Teenagers coped with lovely rustic cabins 😉🤣. Kitchen facilities good.

The hotel is in a good location near the water and next to the sightseeing cruise pier. The customer service response was timely and solved the problem immediately.
