Hotel Restaurant Vijlerhof is located on the Vijlenberg hill in Vijlen, a peaceful area only a short drive from the German border. There is grounds and free parking.
I was there the days before Christmas. The village was charmingly decorated with lights.
Perfect bus connections to Maastricht and Heerlen.
Beautiful surroudings (with hills) for hikes, and a lovely evening stroll through the center.
I also went to the nearby Triangle border where Holland meets Germany and Belgium: within a few seconds you are in a different country haha. And very special: you are at the highest point of the Netherlands!
I definitely want to come back soon and rent a bike and cruise through the beautiful nature. And I want to visit the museum. Oh, and the market on Tuesday morning.
And not to forget: taste the typical 'Limburgse vlaai'. Yummy!

The whole apartment was great. It was very well stocked and the hosts left us a lot of supplies like milk,bread,cheese and more. The shower was great even though the bathroom was small. The beds were comfy ! Vaals is a lovely town it has several bakeries and a good few shops. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
The apartment was extremely clean and spacious. The location is the best in Vaals and also close to bus stops for different trips in the area and the downtown of the city of Vaals. There are shops and restaurants in 1-2 minutes walking from the apartment. Definitely recommend and will book again.
Clean, nice hotel in a calm small town near by Aachen. I stayed one night after work and really enjoy my time. Owner was really helpfull, hotel is on main street with lot of restaurants, shops and bars.
