Location is perfect, possible to walk from the city of Urk, but it's surrounded by nature parks. The park had many families visiting and the mini-chalet is located very close to the reception and the cafeteria, yet it felt peaceful and private. The service at the reception is excellent.
The chalet faces (North-) West, so you only really get direct sun at the small front yard in the morning.
The kitchen is very well-equipped. Ideally you should plan to cook at the place to take advantage of it, and hopefully have a barbecue outside. For the best experience you should probably try to bring what you need, although the reception does carry many supplies. They even rent towels, for instance, which were excellent. It's also very easy to just get drinks and snacks. Breakfast can be ordered and picked up in the morning.
The chalet felt larger than I expected. Certainly not like an apartment, but it's impressive you can have so much comfort in that place. You nerds can use the wi-fi or watch TV with no issues, but then have a short walk and find yourself in the middle of the Urkerbos, at the margin of the IJsselmeer, or in the pool.
Hardcore nerds will enjoy visiting the only geological park in the Netherlands, located nearby.
Set in Urk, just 600 metres from Dijk Beach, Bij de Haven op Urk offers beachfront accommodation with free WiFi. The property has lake and city views, and is less than 1 km from Urk Beach.
Boasting garden views, Vakantiepark 't Urkerbos - Kabouterhuisje provides accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace, around 2.5 km from Dijk Beach.

This was my first stay in a camp ever and I have to say that I am very satisfied. I did a right choice and selected a small hut (1 night stay) and I felt very cosy in it. It is a great camp 2 km from Urk and midst fantastic nature, fantastically cared lawns and sufficient offer of food & snacks. Reception staff very friendly, you can order snacks at the reception and pick them up next morning for a fresh breakfast. A pity I could stay only 1 night but I had to go on (I travelled by car and did 4000 km in 8 days visiting 7 countries). There is also a pool and playground for kids and pony horses.
And there are 3 beautiful cats in the camp going around. One of them was insisting and I let him in the hut and he jumped on a bed immediatelly to lie down. I like cats and please my request to camp staff: please keep some food and water for cats so they can eat and drink and enjoy in the camp, too. Thank you.
Delighted little town which is a real delight to explore.
Delighted little town which is a real delight to explore. The marina was fun to walk around... lots of history and some lovely shops and restaurants. A perfect place to spend a couple of days
Parking is free... once there it's easy to explore on foot
