The apartment is stunning, it's a very large flat, very clean, with comfy sofa and chairs and very comfy beds. It's also warm and cosy. It's right in the heart of Leiden and so you have lots of cafes, shops and restaurants right outside the door. The view of the canal from the lounge is lovely. Its a 10 min walk away from the main hotel where you collect your keys, but that was fine for us. The photos were taken when we were leaving, rather than when we first arrived, hence the slightly untidy beds and sofa. It was perfect when we arrived.

Leiden is small Amsterdam, but without tourists and everything negative they bring. And being a university town it is great to see so many young people everywhere.
Leiden is also great spot for exploring the coast and the beach at Katwijk, but much less expensive. It takes about 15-20 min on bicycle to reach the beach.

Beautiful vibrant university town with a relaxed atmosphere. Great options to experience European art and history. Hortus botanical garden at the Leiden university is simply stunning. Lots of cozy cafés and restaurants. Great shopping opportunities, especially for the afficionados of vintage.

This is one of the oldest University cities in the world.
This is one of the oldest University cities in the world. Arrive by train or park your car at the earliest option and do the rest on foot. The Central Station is surrounded exlusively by seriously ugly large buildings. Don’t let this dishearten you: a few minutes walk and historic buildings including - what else - a windmill surrounds you. Visit the Rapenburg and the Hortus Botanicus or one of the other museums. Visit the market and all the streets mostly small and some of the canals. You can take a tour on a boat (I did not) and have dinner in one of the many restaurants. And… if you’ve had enough take the train and in 20 minutes you are in Amsterdam (if you must) or The Hague, or Delft and so on. Enjoy.

I was born in Leiden , have been living abroad for more than 40 years, but I always love to come back to ‘my city’ and visit my family there. The city centre is old and has a great atmosphere, is easily walkable and has a great variety of shops. Step in the ‘rondvaart’ boat for a trip through the city on the canals.. visit one or two of the many museums.

A lovely city with plenty to see and do.
A lovely city with plenty to see and do. Everyone very friendly and welcoming. I walked along the canals and was fascinated by the canal side markets on the Saturday. A great experience. So many cafes and restaurants for every taste. I will definitely be going again. A gem of a city.

We loved Leiden, probably our favorite Dutch town.
We loved Leiden, probably our favorite Dutch town. Very charming and walkable, the Botanical Garden was excellent, lots of canals, nice park on the perimeter. We visited the first week of September and it was not crowded. Wonderful transportation system, so Leiden was a great base for visiting other nearby places like Delft, Rotterdam and Den Haag.

We wish we had been able to stay for longer! We had a lovely spacious room, which was clean and well decorated/ furnished, with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee, and a nice bathroom. The staff were friendly. The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the historic part of the city - a great base to explore from, and very convenient to walk to the train station (less than 10min). Lots of places to eat nearby and a few supermarkets within walking distance too. We loved Leiden and would love to come back (and stay here again!)
Cute room with a nice view of the windmill. the staff were very accommodating with a late check out when my return flight was delayed. The hotel is conveniently located, an easy walk to the Leiden centre as well as to the main Leiden train station which made it convenient to travel to other surrounding areas. There is also numerous supermarkets and fast food outlets close by for breakfast outside of the hotel as well as a bike shop to rent a bike for days when one wishes to explore the town via bike.
I loved everything about the hotel! The staff was really helpful in every respect, the location was fantastic, very close to the train station and right by the city centre, and the room was big and comfortable, with charming décor. I also liked the breakfast options! I would stay there again, if I ever returned to Leiden!
The staff were lovely and very helpful, giving us tips on the best places to visit nearby and what to do there. The location of the hotel was also very good, close to the train station to travel to other towns but also convenient to Leiden centre.
The hotel is right in the centre of Leiden, a short walk from the central train station. The room was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Check in/out was easy.
