The town square has just about everything you could want.
The town square has just about everything you could want. All the side streets have brilliant shops too. It was a 17 minute walk from my accommodation - just right. And the station was a 7 minute walk from where I stayed. It was cold though! Winter is winter... There are buses and taxis everywhere.

Haarlem is not a vast city and can be walked round easily. Attractions easily found, as is bus/railway station. Close enough to both Amsterdam and Zandvoort for days out without having to stay there. Travel cheap and simple once the system is mastered. Plenty of places to eat for all tastes. Lots of nice local shops.

It's such a beautiful city and easy to navigate on foot. Wonderful selection of cafes and restaurants , many with heated areas to sit outside in winter. I recommend the Christmas market in December as an especially good time to visit.

The mattress and pillow were of very poor quality, and for the price I paid, the single room had no space to move around. The carpets were full of stains. I paid a fortune and expected a four-star hotel with good mattresses, pillows, a well-sized room, and clean carpets. However, the staff were excellent.

Charming city, wonderful Saturday market in the square, clean center and side streets, beautiful churches, parks, great food and soups, close to the sea by regular train.
In the center of the city you can quickly get everywhere on foot.
My favorite place full of aromas: Oscar Bakery.

Rooms were lovely, so comfortable, and quiet. The spa facilities (Sauna and steam room) were excellent. We dined at the hotel a few times and the food was great. Overall, an excellent stay and we would definitely go back. The hotel was a little ways from Haarlem center - but walkable or easy to hop on the bus for two stops (runs every ten minutes or so). And we enjoyed Haarlem so much more than over-priced and over-touristed Amsterdam.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location was great, 10 min walk to train station and 10 min train into Amsterdam Centre. I emailed the hotel beforehand to ask if they could put up balloons for my partners birthday. They went out of the way to do this, and only charged me for the decorations, it looked great and was how I described. This was very kind of them.
I couldn’t fault the hotel, we absolutely loved our stay here! Having based ourselves in Haarlem whilst visiting Amsterdam, the hotel is very close to the train station and to the main square - everything is within walking distance. Staff were friendly, our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean.
The age of the boat, the moorings in both Haarlem and Amsterdam were fantastic. Raphael was helpful, friendly and accommodating.Breakfast was generous with a wide selection of food.
