Honestly I don't know why there are so many bad reviews for this hotel. The staffs were very friendly and super helpful. They booked a taxi for me for the next day. And when the taxi was late to arrive, they called up the taxi to verify the status. Breakfast was included even though I couldn't wake up on time for it. Later when I ordered a coffee, they gave it for free.
The room was clean and spacious. It was a very hot day. My room had an instant chill air cooler which, although is not an AC, is better than a fan .
And of course location is very central.

Sabine was an outstanding Ambassador. And the bartender, whose name we did not catch but she recently returned from studying at Cambridge, was a delightful conversationalist and lovely.

We (me, my wife and 1 year old son) enjoyed our one-night stay at hotel de Schout in Denenkamp. The room was basic but very large with working blackout curtains, small tv and a storage closet. The temperature was easily adjustable. The beds we comfy but the pillows too soft. The receptionist was very friendly and nice. Breakfast was good and luxurious, type buffet with different types of fresh buns, bean coffee, mackerel, salmon, bacons & eggs, fruit, cereals.
