The owners were very friendly and showed excellent hospitality. They provided important information about the island and staying safe as a solo female traveler. I had dinner there two nights. The food was fresh and delicious! I also liked that it was within walking distance to the panga and local shops. I would definitely book again if I visit the Corn Islands or recommend to a friend!

What a welcoming place! Several options for breakfast and they were all tasty. Our laundry was done for us without an extra fee. It was walking distance to scooter rentals. beaches and restaurants. We were given a bigger room than the one we booked as there were no other guests.

Very sweet family that runs this spot! I only stayed here one night but it has everything I needed for a budget stay! I had 1 single bed and 1 double bed, both of which had mosquito nets and lots of fans so I didn’t feel hot at all. I also had a small kitchen with a stovetop, sink and mini fridge which was great. Check in and check out was smooth and I would definitely recommend this spot to others!

We loved our stay at Sunset Bay B&B! The room and grounds were comfortable. The communal space had lots of chairs, a hammock and an outdoor shower. Having the beach right across the street was amazing. On site you could buy water, drinks, and a few essentials at a very reasonable cost, which saved us some trips into town. There is also a bar and restaurant right next door. Georgia was the best host! Thank you for the delicious breakfasts, good chats, and recommendations. You made our stay on Big Corn very memorable!

Big Corn Island is very interesting, people do not stay long but after a week you discover new things. We only found out the bakery a few days before leaving. There are several food options but we liked Relax Restaurant the best. Spekitos is good too but when they are busy the waiting time is very long, we waited 1 hour once. Taxi rides are 20 colones no matter where you go so make your journey worthwhile. Taxis are shared which is lovely to get to know the locals. There are a few larger supermarkets where you can stock up on fruits and veggies. The smaller shops (Pulperias) have only the basics, which include delicious cornbread.

It is a really nice island, somewhat underdeveloped, which I consider a plus. You will not find crowds of tourist over there.
It has 3 main beaches: Arenas (west) which seems very calm at all times (hardly any waves), Long bay (east), which can be somewhat rough at times of strong wind from east or rain, but other than that waves are manageable.
The beach oposite Paraiso Beach Hotel is small and a bit close to the port, but the water seem clean enough to bathe or swim.
Moving around is very easy - taxis will take you anywhere on the island for 20 cordobas.
If you like fish, you can buy it at the port at good price and cook in your homestay.

The supermarkets are really small, barely anything in them, difficult but not impossible if you are use to big supermarkets, lots of restaurants, and tons of even small street vendors. Very few it's more of a third world setting, like buying and trusting meat off street not refrigerator, no deli section, fruits and vegetables section, cold cuts are limited to salami, I looked in the freezer of the biggest supermarket and all I really saw, was hotdogs. Even ometepe had a pali supermarkets. However the beaches are beautiful all around the island. Plenty of shops to buy electronics and household stuff. But eating can be a task. I did not go to little corn so not sure of setup.

Will be going back.
Will be going back. This place was idyllic and absolutely stunning. Like something out of a postcard. Definitely go for lobster at the Sea Side Grill!!! Can’t stress that enough. Or order chicken fajitas at Arenas beach.

The hammocks around the bedrooms and property were the best. I also greatly appreciated the early check-in and help scheduling the taxi to the airport. For some reason I expected hot water for the price, but this hotel did not have hot water in the showers. Other than that my stay was comfortable, but there's cheaper locations with a similar value proposition.
Nice location, very friendly people. The room is well equipped and cozy. All the most important things were good. Some locals came to sell fresh homemade patties/empanadas at our door, which we liked. Also the hotel offers a meal service by pre order, although we didn't realize that until too late on our last day because nobody told us.
Constanza was the perfect host during my short stay, from giving general tips to helping me choose where to go for dinner (they have a restaurant on site, but you have to book in advance). My room was spacious and clean. The hotel is only a short walk away from Pic Nic beach.
The staff, location, grounds and hotels were awesome, but it's unfair to rate it during COVID. The pump was broken in the pool, so they gave me a 20-per-cent discount. I was the only one staying there (there are 21 rooms)
