I went for a 5 day conference and regretted leaving early.
I went for a 5 day conference and regretted leaving early. I've been to many African cities, but Windhoek is very different, not only in climate, but also cityscape. There is a proliferation of security fences round every nice home, but I didn't encounter or hear of any crime (at least in the very pleasant area where i was staying). I also walked the 4 km to the conference venue, morning and evening, without encountering any trouble.

It’s a small “City”, more like a big town.
It’s a small “City”, more like a big town. I didn’t manage to explore many museums (don’t think there are many) . I took a jog around the city with specific things I wanted to see including the Kudu statue and the church in the middle of the traffic circle. I was there for a mining conference but I would say if you are flying into Windhoek then one day is enough to stay and explore a bit. The adventure and wildness of Namibia should not be wasted by spending excessive time in Windhoek itself but is good for a day and night to catch up after a long flight

Great roads, great places to stay.
Great roads, great places to stay. Felt very safe and secure. Friendly people. Good restaurants. Very easy to get around Windhoek. Retail stores are fabulous. Well stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables. Will definitely be visiting again soon. This was a business trip but next time it will be vacation to visit all the beautiful landmarks.

The hotel is located in the center, right next to the Hilton Windhoek. Where we went to have dinner. Their sky bar is amazing.
We had a room on the 7th and highest floor and it was very quiet.
Hotel pool area on the 1st floor is not really appealing, but the pool has a decent size and there are +/- 10 deck chairs.
Ideal hotel for your first or last night in Namibia. We were able to get a late checkout (15h) for a small charge.
Kind of what you expect from a large city centre hotel. Well managed and accessible. We stayed here for one night before our flight. The rooftop bar and pool are great! Would recommend for staying in Windhoek.
Perfect for us as we landed late afternoon so an easy drive into Windhoek for a good nights rest before our adventure around Namibia. Big shopping complex a short walk from the hotel.
Good food and excellent staff. We stayed at other hotels in Windhoek at up to twice the price of Arebbusch Travel Lodge and in my opinion nowhere near as good.
