It’s a small “City”, more like a big town.
It’s a small “City”, more like a big town. I didn’t manage to explore many museums (don’t think there are many) . I took a jog around the city with specific things I wanted to see including the Kudu statue and the church in the middle of the traffic circle. I was there for a mining conference but I would say if you are flying into Windhoek then one day is enough to stay and explore a bit. The adventure and wildness of Namibia should not be wasted by spending excessive time in Windhoek itself but is good for a day and night to catch up after a long flight

not a spectacular town.
not a spectacular town. As I had only a limited time, I took a local city guided tour. We went from the major monuments to a visit across some of the hidden markets (and I even taste the food!), the favelas and finally to a beautiful women run hand craft facility that was the best of the visit. The main cathedral was closed and unfortunately the guide didn't stop in a place high enough to allow an overview of the town. The stop in Windhoek was just a point to catch an overland group trip on the way to Etosha National Park
I had the pleasure of staying at the Tenbergen Pension Hotel in Windhoek from July 31 to August 2, and it was indeed a remarkable experience. The hotel's charm and hospitality made my visit exceptional. The rooms were impeccably clean, comfortable, and elegantly furnished, providing a perfect retreat after exploring the city. The staff was amiable and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. Overall, Tenbergen Pension Hotel exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Windhoek.

A great introduction to Namibia close to Windhoek. Lovely welcome, fabulous food and a little waterhole outside the restaurant where we could see some wildlife.
