After Cancun it is a pleasant town to stay in.
Visiting the nearby cetones at Dzitnup and swimming in them is highly recommended - a great experience - go early though to hopefully get a cetone to oneself.
Plenty of restaurants serving Mayan food.

Beautiful city, very clean and safe!
Beautiful city, very clean and safe! Good food and friendly people, would definitely go back, been twice already! So many amazing cenotes and ruins in the area!!
Chichén Itzá and Ek Balam ruins are both nearby and beautiful.
There are so many wonderful cenotes to visit, a great one being right in town, Cenote Zaci.
El Selva was a wonderful restaurant with great food, but only accepts cash!
The light show that happens at both cathedrals (different displays) are amazing but you need to make sure they are on the nights you are there as it is not every night.
The ADO bus is so comfortable and convenient, great way to get around and there are lots of taxis within town.
The best way to get around though and take tours to cenotes and ruins and see amazing secret sites is with Carlo from #taxipersonalizado it is an amazing experience and great value. Second time visiting and using Carlo. Excellent English and great service!!

Nice place really clean, jacuzzi was not working.
Nice place really clean, jacuzzi was not working. It was cold. Couple of girls told me their money was stolen from a capsule. So always keep your personal belongings with you at all times. Especially when leaving the hostel

A really lovely town.
A really lovely town. We only stayed two nights, but I wish we had been able to stay for another couple of nights. Easy to walk around the town and lots to do there. I recommend visiting the chocolate museum and eating out on Casa de los Venados. A highlight was a joining a free walking tour on 'Heroic Valladolid' with Joel. And I highly recommend having breakfast at Carolin Cacao Café - best breakfast we had on our whole trip.

We really enjoyed our stay in Valladolid and it was a great decision to break up our stay along the coast with a few nights there as a base for a trip to Chichen Itza. Hotel el Meson de Marques was excellent and we enjoyed the shops and restaurants around town, as well as a swim (and some tombstoning) at the Cenote Zaci which was only a 10 minute walk.

Valladolid is a small city that has a big heart, the Yucatan people are very hospitable and the food options are amazing. The food is amazing and is very safe. I recommend eating at Naino the restaurant hotel and also at El Paladar del Cura. Try the cochinita pibil (pulled pork with achiote condiments) anywhere you will love it.

A nice old colonial style place turned into a hotel, well located near the central square of Valladolid and within walking distance of the bus station. The locally roasted coffee provided for the room's coffee maker was a nice touch and not something you see the likes of very much at this price point, the WiFi was consistently strong, and there was an air conditioner in the room—though it mostly cooled off enough at night that it wasn't needed in the winter—and the room was quiet at night.
Small boutique hotel located in the heart of Valladolid. Service is excellent, no diner available at this period of the year though they are plenty recommended restaurants around. Staff is lovely and will help you in anything you may need.
The room was spacious and very confortable bed.
The pool though small is perfect for refreshing yourself after a hot day around.
Finally breakfast was excellent !
Congratulations to the team.
Stunning hotel situated perfectly on the main plaza in downtown Valladolid. The location really couldn’t be better.
Our room was very comfortable and nicely air conditioned plus the bathroom facilities were very good.
The pool area was a nice place to cool off after a hot day and the main restaurant is simply stunning. Go and check out the semi-hidden rooftop bar too, you won’t regret it!
Very nice boutique hotel located very close to the central park, rooms are very nice , clean , modern, nice and clean bathroom, very nice view from the top floor over the centre, reception staff very friendly and helpful
The property is exceptional. Beautiful boutique hotel, perfect location, amazing food and staff. Breakfast is impressive and the overall decor of the property is gorgeours.
