Just across the street from the Uxmal Pyramids, and a 40 minutes' drive from Merida. This historic resort offers an outdoor pool and a working plantation filled with fruit trees and jogging trails.

Located next to the Uxmal ruins. Only a three minute walk to the entrance. The pools were nice. Easy parking.
Note: When we booked, we thought we were staying at the Hacienda Uxmal Plantation and Museum. We were actually put in the Uxmal Lodge which must be a sister hotel. That was fine, because the Uxmal Lodge is closer to the ruins. It makes the reviews confusing though, as some are for the Lodge and some are for the Hacienda which I think is the more upscale hotel.
The Lodge at Uxmal is located within Uxmal Archaeological Park, just a few steps from the pyramids and temples.

The property is huge and it is located next to the Uxmal Mayan ruins which was incredibly handy for site seeing.
There are 5 buildings in this complex. Each has 8 rooms and even though it was 70% full we rarely saw anyone. I’m not sure this is a good/bad thing but it made us feel like we were the only customers.
Our room was huge. We had the living area and the bathroom with a hot tub downstairs and the bed upstairs. The ceiling was very high.
All the staff very absolutely lovely.
Set a 2-minute walk from the traditional village of Santa Elena, The Pickled Onion Eco-Boutique B&B features charming thatched bungalows, an outdoor pool and a restaurant.

The restaurant was great. The included breakfast was fast and hot and very tasty. The property is beautiful, with a nice pool. We had the family room and it was huge for two people. The staff was also really nice.

Hotel Bugambilias is a great bargain. The bed was comfortable. The staff members were ALL helpful and pleasant. The room was very clean. For exploring the Ruta Puuc, the location is very good.

In terms of value for money you cannot get better than this in my opinion. We made a stopover after visiting Uxmal and before driving the long route to Bacalar and it exceeded our expectations! We had a very nice room (tip: book the King room with Sofa bed on the 1st floor above the pool) with AC, hammock and terrace and slept great! Also breakfast has great value for money, we received juice, coffee ánd a dish, which was more than in most other places we stayed at.
The host also recommended us a place to have dinner, which was necessary because Sacalum doesn't offer too much options in terms of food.
Posada El Jardin is located in Ticul and features a garden. There's a year-round outdoor pool and guests can use free WiFi and free private parking.

Teresa is amazing, she gives good recommandation and took care of us! The garden is beautiful and there is maya art in the house. 5 minutes walk From the center/church with a lot of action everynight and an excellent hot chocolate. I’m not sure it’s in the description but there is coffee/tea, pastries and fruits included every morning…we spend 3 nights there, exploring the pyramide around in the morning and swiming in the pool in the afternoon.
Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

To really get to experience Mayan culture, the near by towns and cenotes and more archeological sites I would recommend a week in Uxmal .
I loved every minute we were there .
I would also recommend having a much spending money as possible, not because things are expensive it is that there is so much to do and it will cost money .
Horse riding , vintage 4WD hire , the prices for the sites and tours has risen due to the pandemic .
Also supporting local artists .

We traveled by car because my older sister has specific food needs due to ALS. A blender, two boxes of food and a cooler were graciously hauled to and from our room by the hotel staff. They could not have been more accommodating and helped to supplement her diet with fresh food from the kitchen.
It was my sister's fifth and probably final trip to the awe inspiring sites of the Yucatan. We are so grateful for the experience.

Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission.
Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission. Hotel Uxmal Maya charges 33% more for using US money or cards. Do not go if you don’t want to feel ripped off. Nothing special about hotel as at every turn you have to be guarded about being ripped off.

We were upgraded to hotel "the Lodge", on the other side of the street. This review is for the Lodge:
The location directly in front of the Uxmal ruins was amazing; just a 2 min walk.
The overall setting, verandas in front of the rooms and pools was great! Definitely worth an extra night.
Nice hotel next door to Uxmal archeological area. Polite and professional staff. Hotel looks a little bit shabby from the outside, but once inside there is everything O.K. We could see the pyramids from our balcony. Restaurant offers not many but very tasty meals.
