Loved the concept of a tree house. I expected a similar room to what I had before But that was not available 😕 . I did reach out to the management on booking.com but never heard back.
The shower is great! Nice water pressure, perfect temperature. As you can tell I'm pulling at strings to find the positive side.

The Pacha Tulum has very friendly staff speeking very good English ( even Italian) what is not always the case in other places. Rooms are clean and comfortable, bed was very good for my painful back. I prolonged my stay. This accommodation has good location in center close to most of the shopping places and restaurants . I recommend to hire bike or scooter to reach the public playa Playa Paraiso .

To really appreciate Tulum you should go with friends and plan everything in advance, especially the cenotes and where you plan to eat. Everything is incredibly expensive compared to some other resorts in Mexico.

Tulum is very expensive...food and drinks and accomodation.
this doesn't really match up with the yoga, off the grid type vibe.
Then at night its super loud with all the clubs and their expensive drinks.
Beaches are expensive and every beach charges a minimum to sit there...like 475 US per person!
Shopping...you guessed it ...expensive lol
There are so many other great places in Mexico.

i spent 3 weeks here. it was about 2 weeks and 4 days too long. Really you only need a few days in Tulum. The restaurants and bars all cost the same as you would pay in Los Angeles or NYC. (Eating a meal at the local coffee shop ran me about $25-30 USD) The ruins are fantastic- they are upgrading everything so its a bit chaotic at the moment but i think it will be a great improvement. I went in the afternoon after all the tours had left and it wasn't too crowded or too hot and had a great time. The beaches were nice - but most of the beach clubs are pricey as well. I ended up leaving for a week and visiting Merida and Valladolid and both of those cities I liked much better. If I was a 22 year old who wanted to party and had money to spend Tulum would have been great. But someone looking for a small town with a slow pace and decent prices, I was left lacking.

A more boutique experience than Playa del Carmen and Cancun, with much nicer beaches in my experience. I highly recommend staying in Tulum if you love nice beaches. It is about 20%-30% more expensive, but well worth it my opinion.

Expensive, overcrowded, insanely touristy.
Expensive, overcrowded, insanely touristy. Rampant growth with luxury condos everywhere without any thought put in how it will impact life. Difficult yo get around without a car. If you are backpacker or chill traveler - avoid. Tulum right now is on it's way to become US colony.

Tulum is becoming more commercialized and mainstream which takes away from the uniqueness that it once had. Soon it will be like Cancun and we won’t go there anymore. The beach is the most beautiful beach so that will send me back for at least one more trip. Potholes on the beach road need repair. Taxi prices are out of control. You are better off renting a car if you don’t drink alcohol.

During our holidays in mexico we stayed at Casa del Arbol for 4 nights. The check in was super easy. It was within walking distance of the Ado bus station. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. We also had free drinking water at our apartment. We also rented bicycles through the hotel - which was super easy and quick. We went to the beach by bike it took about 20-25min.
We also felt safe there (we were 2 girls) and there were supermarkets and numerous restaurants nearby.
We really loved to stay there! :)
I came all the way from Berlin, Germany to Tulum. La Zebra was a great choice but what really made it stand out was the health and wellness Pavillon overlooking the ocean. I had two exceptionally great classes (Yoga and HIIT) that really made all the difference. There are quite a few nice boutique hotels along the cost but none of them offers a workout experience with ocean view. I would recommend it any time!
My sister and I stayed at Irie Tulum in May 2024 and we loved stayed there. The location is developing rapidly with new building being built. It is located between the beachfront and downtown which gave us the opportunity to explore both sides of Tulum. The hotel is a small boutique hotel, very clean and the staff was absolutely so nice and helpful!
Beautiful hotel in Tulum with excellent service by the staff. We loved the pool areas and having access to the beach. There is a lovely rooftop bar where you can watch the sunset. Interior of the hotel is stunning. We took the yoga class one morning which was included in our stay. And we enjoyed the film that was put on the big screen one evening.
The apartment was right on the beach which was beautiful. It is a perfect escape from the business of
Tulum and the beach is as nice if not better than those on the hotel zone- there are sufficient loungers and on a sunny day it is truly stunning.
Jeanette and Javier were so accommodating and we also loved the little dog Suki!
