I loved the restaurants that are not on the main road.
I loved the restaurants that are not on the main road. Try going on 10 Avenida, 20 Avenida, or 25 Avenida. There are wonderful little places that beat the overpriced ones on the main road. La Estrella (say hello to Braulio…he wants to practise his English while serving the best ceviche dish), Las Flamitas, La Chola, La Mission were our favourites.
I loved the fact you can walk around and feel safe. Yes, there are a lot of souvenir stores and people hawking their wares, but it is their way of making a living.
Every day was a different walking adventure. I think we covered most of the streets from our hotel to the airport, just by walking.
Want a catamaran ride? Go with Fury. They take you snorkelling near the reefs, swimming near a sand bar, lunch on a beach to watch the sunset. Go see Wilbert at the Mega to reserve.

I wasn't planning to go to Cozumel it was a last minute trip over the MLK longer weekend. The Hotel B Unique was the perfect place for us. It was within walking distance to town (2 miles) and we stopped and had a fresh pineapple smoothie along the way $5 american dollars. We always felt safe and dinners/drinks were very inexpensive. The dollar was accepted almost everywhere. The airport was so easy. It was a nice reprieve from the cold in the states! We wanted local food but since it was Saturday places were booked. We ended up at Guido's Italian Restaurant (they do not take reservations) it was fantastic! We had garlic bread, two seafood pastas entrees, one dessert, and 3 cocktails for $96.00

Lovely food, shopping options, beautiful beaches. Easy to drive around the island. Lots of vegan and vegetarian food available. Very friendly people and very safe to walk about Sat or night. No pressure to buy from street and shop vendors. Highly recommend trying ilote and marquesitas from street vendors.

A beautiful place with the sandy beach and also a Ferry to try for something new. However, being hounded by all the sales people along '5th Avenue" was a bit daunting to someone from another country who was not used to this mode of selling. It was a beautiful place, nonetheless. I would go back again in the future to spend time at a number of the spots along the way.

My wife and I have been traveling and diving in Cozumel for over 20 years. If you dive, you know. If you don;t dive but are interested in learning, then this is the place for you to do it! Is there more to do than diving? Yes, in abundance! Birding, Nature walks, Mayan temples? Yes. Fantastic vistas? Yes. Friendly and accomadating folks? Sure!
Will you face intense hawking from a myriad of vendors? Yes. Great resturants? In great number! Ask how much to a destination before you get in a taxi. They are numerous and safe.

Simply put, Cozumel is for divers (or snorkelers).
Simply put, Cozumel is for divers (or snorkelers). It is one of the best dive destinations in the Caribbean. We've been visiting since 1981 (long before the cruise ships made it a regular, which I consider unfortunate because the cruise ship zone of San Miguel is indistinguishable for your typical cruise ship zone anywhere else, and has caused prices to be higher.)
If you're not a diver and just want to fiesta, Cancun is the place. The Mexican Riviera now stretches from Cancun to Tulum and has a number of all-inclusive resorts.

Beach is great, but NOT sandy all the way. Water can be accessed via stairs.
Offers all options from sun to shade, sunbeds and -chairs, hammocks.
Direct scuba diving option from the beach!
Or book a boat trip with the on-site dive-shop and embark right next to the hotel.
Breakfast was good.
Drinks at bat are good quality and cheap. {except beer}
The only thing that was ok was the price, ahahah. At the day of arrival they sent me a message that that they do not provide towels and I need to give them 200pesos cash deposit. I told them this was the first time when hotel do not provide towels and their comment was priceless: Yes, because we are the cheapest hotel in Cozumel. Well, you sure are.
This is a great diver's resort. The all inclusive food was excellent. Right on the beach...and excellent facilities for washing and drying your dive gear. Walking distance to the town center and other amenities. Free parking. Clean and well maintained swimming pool. Great inexpensive laundry services!
Stylish, spacious and comfortable rooms. Definately one of the nicest designs on the island. There aren't many modern and nice hotels. For the price it's a good value on Cozumel.
