It was in the down town area. Around the corner there are coffee shops and other shops. Centro de Fe church was 2 blocks away.
Salamanca is not really a tourist area. I was there visiting Mexican family. if you are not Mexican it is not a very safe place to be. It has a large refinery which burns off gases 24/7. Whereas Guanajuato is a lovely town nearby to stay and visit. Lots to see and do. It's a student town and tourists will feel safe here.
I thought the complimentary breakfasts were nice (although being offered a second cup of coffee would’ve been nicer), and the ladies working the dining room were most pleasant. Also, the hotel’s location right in the center is superb.
I loved everything about this hotel - the best hotel experience during my 3.5 weeks of traveling around Mexico. Large rooms, very quiet, great pool, gym, interesting breakfast, easy parking!
