so this is my favorite go-to hotel in monterrey. however, hotel "500" doesn't exist anymore. it's more like "hotel 800" the 500 meant 500 pesos, or about $25 back in the day. now the smallest room is probably $35 USD, and it disappoints me that they rose the price, while creating more rooms and floors.

I used booking.com for a taxi - I was overcharged enormously, and the driver was given the wrong address!!!! kms away from the actual hotel which is a stone's throw from the airport (in Monterrey they have a convoluted road system so actually 10 - 15 kms) On the other hand it was an adventure - I saw the large prison, industrial lands in development, and some of the roads worse than in Cuba! The driver was great - and ex-light weight boxer!!! So interesting.
The place I stayed was very nice, small houses (2 or 3 bedrooms), very near the airport and with OXO and 7-Eleven - well stocked and in the same gated community. Unfortunately the house was being renovated - no hot water! and no wifi, but the bed was very comfortable - and that's what I needed. I was there only one night, and saw the airport twice. destination Cancun.
The guards at the gate were helpful
Recommend that you let the person in charge organize your transport!!!!

Monterrey seems a random city. Very noticeable the contrast between old areas and new ones. I believe you have to have a very specific objective to be able to enjoy it as much. Lots of things to see and do buy very different areas and prices.

Monterrey is a wonderful city, a bit hot sometimes but worth visiting. It has loads of amenities and places to go, and hosts the best private university in Latin America, Tecnológico de Monterrey. It is worth visiting town centre, Parque Fundidora, and eat "cabrito" in the various restaurants available.

Monterrey is a beautiful city with lots of things to see and do in and around the city. The Macroplaza is the cultural center of the city and there are many restaurants, museums, shops, and locals walking around the area. The Antigua area is across from the Macroplaza and there is the old part of the city with the Monterrey Cathedral and lots of shops and restaurants as well. On Saturday and Sunday the Antigua area has a few very good local flea markets. Also, Monterrey has a great subway system called the Metrorrey and its really easy to use and a very cheap way to get around this great city! I highly recommend Monterrey for any tourists who want to get some great Mexican food and culture that is only a 45 minute flight from Houston and a 3hour bus ride from the border. VIVA MONTERREY!

The hotel is excellent located across the street from the Cintermex Convention Center, as We had an event there It was pretty convenient. Also, Parque Fundidora is within walking distance, and from there you can take a boat to have a wonderful trip to Downtown Monterrey, Excellent breakfast, clean, and good service from the staff. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms.
I liked the proximity of the hotel to the airport. The breakfast is one of the best I've had at a hotel like this one. Very helpful and pleasant staff. There was an unfortunate loss of electricity at check-in time but after about 30 minutes they came up with a solution that was well appreciated.
Nothing, not safe at all, not a family hotel, dirty, pictures online totally different from reality, we did not spend the night, there, we left the hotel after we arrived.. careful
Comfortable beds, the staff was very attentive, my niece forgot her airpods in the hotel after check out, and when they found them, they called us to get them.
