2 butterfly sanctuaries near by - visit both but only in warm weather because the butterflies are inactive otherwise. There is real coffee in the centre of town and i taught them how to make a flat white!
Hotel Marguerita has a good buffet supper deal - but this isn't every night. Hotel Jardin is cute and the owner is the nicest person i met there. Hotel Juarez aren't very nice at all. Don Bruno is expensive but manicured.
There isn't always cash in the ATM. Take money with you!

Enjoyed the town Center during their festival weekend Feb 2, eating at Esme's for burritos and quesadillas, the fabulous butterflies at Rosario and Sierra Chincua. Oscar Reyes was a great taxi/guide for getting around with very good English!

Mineral de Angangueo is a cool town.
Mineral de Angangueo is a cool town. The street venders have good food and it is very inexpensive. The town itself is centrally located to visit the butterfly sanctuaries. Be prepared, most of the Hotels are bare bones. The only one that we saw that was worthy of recommending was Don Brunos.
