Lovely atmospheric hotel very close to the centre with a parking (not easy to find in San Miguel). Very beautiful grounds that made our children happy and us assured that they are safe outside. Attentive and unintrusive staff. Good quality hot water shower (again, not a given in Mexico, even in good hotels). Decent wi-fi. Comfortable beds.

The grounds were wonderful and quiet with the pool, lounge chairs, lawn and rooftop deck to view the city. Great to have a refrigerator and extra blanket as room was cold. Nice to have outlets by a mirror so if one of us was in bathroom, there was a place to plug in hair appliance. It was very spacious with a couch besides the two beds. Free bottled water was a bonus. Breakfast was fine. Nothing fancy but the waitress was very nice. I think her name is Beatrice. Coffee not that great though. the hotel is situated on a hill so a bit of a climb but not bad. Close to restaurants and the central plaza.

Rooms: Great rooms with view. These are vintage looking rooms, a little cold in the night but manageable.

Service: Worst service of all. First, I have a double book from booking.com due to a website glitch, I asked for Cancelation fees waver. They did not allow it. Which understand by me and luckily the other hotel refunded full amount. While I am in hotel they refuse to give room and mentioned it canceled. Later, they checked and understood that they misread the direction of booking.com which is in Spanish. They harrash us almost 15 minutes without even reading it.
Later we got room 18 which have very bad smell from bathroom. They did not understand and even did not came to check it. We took 2 rooms, 18 and 19. Both of the rooms missing basic amenities like bathroom towels. They mention we do not have it in the hotel. 2 lady in reception can not handle a single problem they just repeat what they said in first time.
Language: only Spanish speaking receptionist
Location: It is near Murador so little far from centro. If you love to walk in the vintage city then this location is well suited for you.
Wifi: Average.
Recommendation: International tourists are not recommended due to the language barrier unless you can use translation for every little conversation.
Recommend to hotel: Change your receptionist. SMA is an international tourist area. They should understand little engle. We can put our effort and speak in rough Spanish, whereas the hotel should understand a little bit to assist guests.

The stairs to get to the rooms were horrible. One of the guests checked out of her room to get to another hotel. Their room didn't have any chairs, so they had to put personal items and clothes on the floor.
