Lovely place, incredible owners and staff. Pet friendly, people that don't like cats or dogs might not enjoy it. The town isn't really touristic though, be advised.

Isla Aguada is now a magical pueblo and it has a ways to go to live up to that name. It is a scrubby town that is trying to improve. We were there off season and on a Monday when most things were closed, so it is probably much more lively in the summer. Lots of seafood restaurants and the main draw is that a boat will take you out to see the dolphins. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was great fun and we saw a lot of dolphins. Our guide told us the time from March to August is better, the water is calmer and clearer and there are more dolphins, plus sea turtles.

Nice and tranquil place on the beach of Laguna Términos with big, clean rooms. The hotel grounds also function as a trailer park and camping. Probably not the place to spend your honeymoon, but certainly a good and relaxed stopover for a few days on a long voyage. We were really at ease arriving on a tropical december evening having a beer at the restaurant. On winter days, you'll have both sunset and sunrise over the lagoon. Nearby restaurants provide simple Mexican home-style seafood and snacks, delicious if you like the local style.
The beach was OK and we were picked up directly from there by Marbella for a boat tour around the lagoon (really good), which was handy.
The place itself was well located to break our journey after a long drive from Calakmul. It's away from the centre of Isla Aguada, so we didn't really get a chance to see the town and find out why it is a Pueblo Magico.
