Great location in the town. Near to restaurants, bus drop off/pick up. Beachfront. Comfortable rooms and great palapa on the roof to relax, have drinks or eat. Breakfast included in price. I was there 5 days and never had the same breakfast. I preordered dinner a few nights which was delicious and reasonably priced. Filtered water available. Super friendly Spanish-speaking hosts.

- We have been there mid January (off-season) for three nights, and at no point in time have there been more than three rooms occupied. At times we were the only guests around which was really nice.
- The place is very remote, which has the upside of shielding you from all the hectic of the more touristic places. Combine with the first point, we had the feeling of being on a private island :)
- The service staff is super attentive without being overly present.
- The room has been cleaned every day quite thoroughly. You can get new towels every day if you want; the sheets stay the same. You get one free 0.5l water per person every day.
- Our beach-faced bungalow was superb. We had our own patio and hammock, and a direct view to the beach. The rooms a moskito nets on the windows that are permanently open. Moreover they were very spacious with lots of good solutions to place stuff.
- The hotel area around the pool and the beach is probably the nicest part. It just looks beautiful and has plenty of spots to relax during the day. The pool is kinda small though. The garden is also swept regularly.
- You don't need any shoes for your stay.
- We stayed for 3 nights, which I think was good. I would say that with 4 or more, we would have to drive somewhere for day trip.
- The good is good, and the card big enough to not make you repeat too much in 3-5 nights. Most dishes are either Mexican, Italian, or some sort of fusion. The cocktails are also fine.
- Except for the shots, the prices are reasonable. Without holding back and including tips, we payed 315€ for 3 nights and 2 ppl for food and drinks.

Casa Paraiso is a special place. Lisa and Jim make it that way. Our room was really a suite, with a balcony, king bed, kitchenette, cupboards, and bathroom with beautiful tile work. Good shower, plenty of hot water. Entirely quiet at night. Kayaks available. We also hired Luis to take us on a trip through the mangroves and snorkeling on the reef. The breakfasts were great, with eggs different ways, beans sometimes, always fruit. Most people go to Xcalak for fly fishing in the lagoon, but we did not do that.
