Casa Cuyo Hotel, hotel in El Cuyo

Nestled in the heart of the stunning coastal town of El Cuyo in Yucatan, lies a hidden gem that is sure to steal your heart Casa Cuyo.

Casa Cuyo Hotel was more than I expected. It an oasis a bit further than the centre (8-10min roughly). However, I liked Exactly the far away from the busy area and very close to the beach. I enjoyed the coziness, the silence, the clean room, the space with wind down like the hammock outside of the room and the one in the courtyard. Also a lovely kitchen to be used by guests, if needed and a beautiful rooftop to see the sunset.

The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was big and have everything that we need. The personnel were friendly and helpful we had such a great dinner with a traditional seafood paella that was made in front of us. The breakfast was also really delicious and rich we enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately we didn`t have time to spend in the pool, but it looks good also. :)

Unless you are a kite boarder there is not a lot to do, it's a place to read a book and relax. However, you are going to pay for that luxury. The restaurants are expensive (for good reason, but it's still the truth) and some of the hotels are way overpriced for what you get. However, it is very nice to be in such a chill place for a few days . Two nights seems sufficient, but it depends on your desires.

We stayed in el cuyo for a week.

We stayed in el cuyo for a week. We travel with two kids so we want a pretty low pace. The village is small but charming. The beach is great. If we were traveling without kids I would suggest maybe three nights so you have time to enjoy the beach, and do a tour in the lake. Recommend lunch at Savios.

Fantastic little village with very friendly people, nice swimming in the sea, few people on the beach, will go there again. Kites are available for rent, windsurfing equipment we could not find for rent.

El Cuyo has long been on my list to travel to.

El Cuyo has long been on my list to travel to. The beach is beautiful although depending on wind, depends on how rough the gulf is therefore it can be quite choppy and not so enjoyable. The town is very quiet so it is a switch off from the world visit if you go. Eating out in town there are some lovely places, LAGUNA was delightful and served excellent food with fantastic service. Off The Vine restaurant was also lovely with a great atmosphere, excellent food and great location

IT IS A NICE LITTLE TOWN, GOOD TO RELAX A COUPLE OF DAYS. YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL TO BRING ENOUGH CASH BECAUSE THERE IS NO CASH MACHINE IN TOWN AND THE NEAREST IS 2 HOURS AWAY. MOST OF THE PLACES DON'T ACCEPT CARD PAYMENTS EVEN IF THE SAY YES. BEACH IS NICE BUT THEY DONT CLEAN IT, SO THERE IS A LOT OF STINKY, DRY ALGAE.

El Cuyo is a quiet, unspoiled corner of Mexico that we were lucky enough to experience before it gets spoiled like many other coastal areas. It has retained its character as a fishing village, has many excellent restaurants and a virtually empty beach. Good birdwatching also.
